I'll admit, I've had my doubts on Dazza's ITK status but I'll also admit that the only reason I come onto this thread is because I enjoy reading what he has to say, it gives me confidence that Palace have pulled these deals off - otherwise I could just click on the 'Player X (Papertalk)' threads.

The people who have no time for his posts should stick to the normal threads and stop wasting our time pretending to be ITK about Dazza ...

Some posters have wondered about whether we can afford to buy Benrahma without selling Wilf, having already forked out the best part of £20m for Eze. As has been noted, the AWB money appears to have been used to pay off debts, so that's not available.

However, we need to bear in mind the following:
1. FFP has been deferred for 1 yr thus giving PL clubs more wriggle room.
2. Next summer sees a number of contracts come to an end including players on very high (for us) wages and a number of those may not be renewed thus releasing much needed funds
3. Our American owners are billionaires and whilst they haven't shelled out great sums as other similarly rich owners at other clubs, they are first and foremost businessmen. They will not want to see their investment in Palace hammered by relegation to the Championship, and may well, therefore, make funds available to strengthen the squad to reduce that risk. All speculation on my part, I know .

I don't tend to watch SSN but did catch one of their transfer sessions in which the so-called expert on Palace (Michael..?) emphasized that the Benrahma deal, if true) would NOT require Wilf to be sold in order to finance it. If Wilf does go, therefore, it seems we will have money for a replacement. Some have suggested Sarr from Watford. Possible but, if rumours re Salah wanting to go to Barca are true, then I can see Liverpool going for Sarr amongst others, so Sarr may be reluctant to jump ship to us until he sees how the Salah rumours pan out.
More speculation on my part, I know, but just wanted to move on from the weekly 'let's slag Dazza off'.

Any one joining this forum has agreed to abide by it's rules which include the following:-

By all means, slag off the club, management and players. But do not slag off this website, other Palace sites and more importantly, your fellow Palace supporters

If you are offended by a poster's comments, don't reply back with a pointless argument. Use the 'Alert a moderator to this post' link under the post in question. Any postings which may degenerate into slagging matches will also be deleted.

Flaming - We do not tolerate abusive, malicious, personal attacks on the message boards. You will be banned if you persist in this behaviour.

Many people are happy reading dazza'a posts but there is a growing band of people that are not interested in what he writes but instead of just moving on to the next thread like a normal human being just can't help themselves complaining about him, some in moderate terms but others like halfwits and I'm sure that we all know which people have turned Dazza's posts into an obsession.

I'm sure that these people won't stop because it seems to be in their nature that having nothing to contribute themselves they will continually carp on about those that do

You just can’t help yourself can you? It’s no good jumping onto your high horse about the treatment dished out to Dazza and then ending the post by slagging those individuals off.

You’ve gone in two footed here on members that think Dazza is faking it and tried to make it look like you’re better than they are...well massive fail pal!

"Tried to make it look like I'm better than they are" or "Tried to make it look like most HOL posters are better than they are" but as the Blues Brothers famously said "If the sh1t fits, wear it"

As I said "people won't stop because it seems to be in their nature that having nothing to contribute themselves they will continually carp on about those that do"

So is this an open admission that you have nothing to contribute yourself?

Debating with you reminds me of a comment that Denis Healey once made of Geoffrey Howe

Whatever ones thoughts, I have somewhat derailed the actual thread. My apologies.

For what it's worth I think benrahma looks like a cracking player. Would love to see him sign, preferably on a permanent deal. Eagerly awaiting/hoping for some good news.

I hope that dazza is right because some media are now claiming that we haven't even agreed a price with Brentford let alone asked the player if he wants to play for us

Benrahma is a Salthouse player. I would ignore the media, most of our targets, we would have been speaking to for a while to determine their interest in joining us and potential personal terms.

I don't think we are anywhere near agreeing a fee with Brentford and they aren't in any rush or need to sell.

If I had to put money on it, he'll be at West Ham towards the latter part of the window once they've got in a defender and then they will panic buy and pay over the odds. Salthouse seems to have a bit of a hold over us and West Ham.

We should go all out to buy Sarr.

If nothing else, the top price that we are quoted -- I'd guess £50m -- will serve as a stark reminder to Wilf of his market value when Everton come in bidding £30m.

No pram throwing, Wilf, its a piss-take bid.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

An excellent post and I agree with your sentiments about the long suffering Dazza!
