Assuming that this person is correct that it was a fake attack the media will lap this up and will be offering the shop owner money for the tape. If we hear no more about this then I don't believe it. Let's see where we are in 3/4 days.

As I was working at the time for a German company these were also being discussed there. The effects were well understood but the desire to keep everyone under the same umbrella meant they were considered secondary. My own hope is that the reform route is taken and that some kind of overarching pan-European organisation continues to link everyone. I would like the UK to be driving that reform rather than turning it's back on it because we can then help to shape it and not have to accept what others decide. So even if our future EU membership has to be especially tailored to fit us I would rather we stayed inside than outside with a "deal". Maybe we will move towards that in the next 2 years with us revoking Article 50, calling a GE and electing a Parliament with no outright winner which demands compromise to move forward. With the EU negotiating team also changing and disaffection growing in various countries perhaps the opportunity for a fresh approach may arrive sooner than later. I really hope so and that the divisiveness of the past years can be put behind us as we endeavour to build a safe future for those who follow us. Here here.

Northern versus South Europe. The EU should have been an inner and outer Europe with countries only being admitted to the inner group as their economies aligned. Countries like Greece, Italy and Spain have suffered in a one size fits all and have also caused problems with the rest of the EU. The EU has been happy to subside the weaker economies but have demanded very little reform in return, so until recently it was party time in Greece fantastic pensions and no one paying or collecting taxes. The intention is fine but as always it's the execution of the ideal that's the problem.

In my opinion, it would be far, far better for us to leave now and sit quietly on the sidelines as a spectator whilst the rest of the EU falls to pieces - it will be far cheaper for us too, as we won't be asked to cough up and prop ailing economies whilst it does so. Then we can be part of something new, fresh and workable with like minded countries, possible going back to the old EEC format. To try and stay within the current system and influence any major reform will be virtually impossible, I believe, as the unelected cream of of the swine running the show will never allow their snouts to be removed from the trough they have built for themselves. Turkey DO NOT vote for Christmas.

Because he is going for leader saying the same old tired rubish every politician in Britain has said. "We must show resolve",does he think anyone will honestly take him seriously.
