Couple more interesting rumours this morning. L'Equipe have said we're interested in PSG 21-year-old striker Hugo Ekitike on loan. BBC have picked it up here: [Link] The article also states West Ham are also very interested. Why do Hammers always have to rain on our parade?

One way to look at it might be that they've helped us save a contextual fortune down the years!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I'm not surprised at Mateta's hattrick. I thought he looked much better in pre season. Maybe its too late to stop him going maybe he will stay. Either way I hope it works out for him. I have always thought that Mateta is a better striker than Edouarde.

If we could only get one forward this window would you prefer a left sided forward or a striker ( I know ideally we’d get somebody who could perform both roles)? We have a Zaha shaped hole on the left side of the attack which at the moment is fulfilled by either playing Eze or Schlupp out of position or by swapping Ayew across from the right. We have 3 people who can play down the middle currently- Edouard , Mateta and Ayew (even if you think none are the answer ) so arguably the greater need is on the left. As it’s very unlikely to be able to afford the sort of striker who will score lots of goals for us my preference would be for a pacy and powerful left sided forward to take advantage of Eze’s clever link up play and Anderson’s ability to switch the ball over long distances.
