Iooking at the first team I see 29 players with seven Academy - leaving us with a thin squad (ignoring Academy) of 22. that 22 includes injured players. The last window produced only one new player to become a regular - Doucoure. In January two imported players have made debuts Will be happy if in April those two start two of every three matches, and a "new" (not having started in August to November) whether from neglected or academy joins our first team on the pitch. There is also almost a whole loaned out team ready for August.

There is also almost a whole loaned out team ready for August. I think you should make a substitution here. Bring on Available for Ready. Example ; Killian Phillips. By all accounts doing well at Shrewsbury and that may well help his development. Premier League ready ? Not so sure. Put it this way, if we signed a young midfielder from Shrewsbury, would we be happy that he could compete for a first team place ?

We will the best u23 squad in the Championship. It won’t come to that just wanted to vent some frustration. But it’s kind of the point that it won’t come to that because it removes the urgency from the Board.

There’s a plethora of young talent in and around south London apparently, I’d like that to be the secondary focus after the first team. Things do look somewhat worrying given other teams’ action versus our nothing. The first team looks incomplete and squad very bare. I am inclined to believe the powers that be just want to ‘make it through’ the season so that will have to be the hope as opposed to anything remotely resembling ambition. Safety is all we’re playing for in football terms now.

I think Dougie has a pretty decent track record for signings. Don’t forget, he built the team that got us promoted. Jedinak, Bolasie and Delaney were important players for getting us up and keeping us up. Then look at the summer we went up, Dougie was gone, we signed 16 players and it was shocking. Since Dougie returned he’s done well, you could say Sorloth was someone he saw talent in, and while none of us saw it, he’s been proven to be right after all. The majority have worked out very well for us. We wouldn’t be the first club to struggle to establish a prolific centre forward. I dare say Mateta was only ever brought in to give us different options, a more physical approach where it’s needed.
