I can't imagine Cooper being successful with our club. The only thing he offers is he's had a decent record managing young players. First, you can't survive in the PL with youth players. Second, we don't have any youth players, aside from maybe Mitchell. Zaha wants to leave. Best case scenario, no other team puts in a decent offer, so we keep him for one more year. In that case, Wilf would be pissed off to begin with. If he was playing for NES or Lampard, then ok, maybe he could deal with that. If he's playing for Cooper, a Championship manager at best, there is no way. It's a joke expecting Zaha to come back to Palace for another year, and play for the least experienced manager in the PL. I don't blame Parish for turning down the demands of NES. But for god's sake, we need someone with some experience, who veteran players would want to play for. Cooper is not that guy. Cooper would end up being sacked before the season was out. Really, it's just aggravating that we've been in the PL for many years now, and still no one wants to manage us. It's like we're begging bottom of the barrel candidates to come here. At this point, it would have been better to endure another year of Royball. 2017 Feb. It really is the same old story with this club, we never do anything straight forward our transfer dealings always seem to be complicated drawn out, we always seem to encounter last that minute snag it doesn’t breed confidence or give us fans any reassurance it really does make us a laughing stock. Steve Parish and Co have done a fantastic job for this club I am not knocking that, but this dithering that is generated out of the club over appointments be it players or managers has to stop. ( no and I’m not saying let’s just appoint anyone ) . . Most of us wants a managerial appointment that give us confidence warrants our 9 years in the Premiership some will argue that Cooper is the man for the job others, like me I want a manager that breed confidence make a statement of intent and I thought again like most we were getting that with Nuno. I agree Cooper name does not breed confidence and his appointment would indicate that we are scrapping the bottom of the barrel but to say he would be sacked half way through the season is hindsight, no one knows how he will cope how the team will perform for all we know he could be a huge success, but if Cooper is the man then why wasn’t he appointed straight after the play off. Nuno sacking through a spanner in the works agreed but I honestly don’t believe that the board didn’t know that Roy was going to retire. Not aware of anyone, yet, who's said they don't want to manage Palace. The only potential candidate so far who's been in serious discussions (as far as we know) is Santo and Mr Parish quite rightly refused to meet his ridiculous demands.

I’m unsure we’re that attractive a proposition to top candidates with our complicated structure . We have established backroom team including Mcarthy, Derry, Guyet and the medical staff. We also have Freedman as DOF who seems to have a significant role on players . We have American part owners who supposedly want out and appear to have little active interest. We have around ten players out of contract in a couple of weeks and a long standing need to refresh the squad with more quality and youth. For a top candidate who likes to have his choice of backroom stafff and players the job could be seen as something of a poisoned chalice. As it stands I can only see the job being attractive to a young up and coming manager such as Cooper or Ismael who would see it as a step up, or for an experienced out of work manager who wants to get back in the game such as Mark Hughes (I’m not advocating this). Lampard or Howe would surely have already been appointed if it was intended to give either the job. OK one out of nowhere - Duncan Ferguson - DF has made it known that he wants the Everton job on a full time basis, however the club dont seem to be taking his application that seriously- i.e if it was a shoe in he would already be in the job - If NES goes into Everton with his backroom entourage DF will likely be out of a job & he will be pretty upset. His first option will of course be to join Ancelotti at Real Madrid - However if he / his family dont want to relocate, that leaves a senior coach with a time served record from a fairly substantial club with a decision to make- For sure , there will be plenty saying he has been a No 2 for a while, not actually a number 1 for very long, etc etc etc, but as a number of people have also said, coming to Palace aint going to be a walk in the park. DF has made it known that he wants the Everton job on a full time basis, however the club dont seem to be taking his application that seriously- i.e if it was a shoe in he would already be in the job -

If NES goes into Everton with his backroom entourage DF will likely be out of a job & he will be pretty upset.

His first option will of course be to join Ancelotti at Real Madrid - However if he / his family dont want to relocate, that leaves a senior coach with a time served record from a fairly substantial club with a decision to make-

For sure , there will be plenty saying he has been a No 2 for a while, not actually a number 1 for very long, etc etc etc, but as a number of people have also said, coming to Palace aint going to be a walk in the park.

I am thinking it is Howe or Lampard v home team of Freedman or Derry. I am not overjoyed with any, but the home team do not have any proper experience of PL management and I would be amazed if Parrish risks millions of pounds on them, unless it is through sheer desperation. I am not overjoyed with any, but the home team do not have any proper experience of PL management and I would be amazed if Parrish risks millions of pounds on them, unless it is through sheer desperation.

Having said that ,Everton, are his club, with his knowledge of the players there second to none. Ferguson, did a really good job , in his short spell looking after Everton. Having said that ,Everton, are his club, with his knowledge of the players there second to none.
People like him with experience of the Premier league , working along side higher profiles, should be being considered. Arteta, was one. It could be someone slightly under the radar, but if the experience is there ,even without the recognition ,it could be the way over this.
