As a moderator, that is a terrible post. Apart from it being contradictory. What absolute drivel. I am a member of this forum primarily and am as entitled to voice my opinions on any Palace related subject as anyone else whether you like it or not

It has nothing to do with wanting Selhurst to have a good atmosphere. It's about the price to be paid for it The price to be paid for it? The absolute horror of telling people (who do not own their seats) they will have to move to another seat (that they will also not own). And only the best part of a year to come to terms with their tragic loss. It's mental.

Yes but they may not be able to whisper to the 20th acquaintance or 3rd cousin 20 seats down or 3 rows and 7 seats away. Imagine if the whole ground was set up like that forever. Bye bye atmosphere for good.

I'm guessing that you're not one of the ones affected which makes it fairly easy for you to put down those who are

Right here goes an idea, No they won't! All they will know is how many currently in the seats under discussion want to remain. They would then need to establish IF the HF are coming back and how many seats they need now, and they have not (as far as I am aware)responded so far to the club's statement. That would give them the number of central core seas. Now comes the difficult part - they either have to ask people to indicate NOW if they want to move there so that they know how many others want to be in a singing section and can accommodate them accordingly when the move takes place or they will just have to decide how big the singing section will be and limit tickets sold for that area. Of course, having done all that, and allocated any remaining seats to those ejected from their usual places, you then are left potentially with the same problem the following year if the singing section takes off and needs to expand again - or if it all falls flat and you have empty seats behind the goal (and this is a possibility if the horror that is relegation happens!) So, maybe not quite as simple as it would seem.

When the club allocate spaces in any singing section or eventual safe standing section, they might be wise to take into account where the fan currently resides - for example if they come from B block it is more likely they already stand and sing than if they are currently in H block sitting down all game The above sounds terribly arbitrary, just shows what an impossible job the club have trying to do the whole thing fairly

What seems lost in all this is the future selhurst atmosphere. Not only will we have a lovely new main stand we will have an atmosphere that is the best in England. Other clubs have tried to mimic ours but they don't come close. The fanatics are a big reason for this but it also rubs off on others. Let's embrace change now.

Does anyone here actually know any Fanatics? I don't. I'm told they used to drink in the Port Manor, in Norwood Junction. But that got closed down by the crack Met Police Special Optimism Destruction Unit (SOD-U) which takes the closing of avenues of pleasure 'very seriously'. I must admit I admire their spirit, even if they are a bit excessive at times. (That's youth for you) Palace's atmosphere building team needs to be a blend of youth and experience. (Bert Head said something similar) To sanitise something Ron Noades once said, we need the hard singers (regardless of which box they tick on diversity survey forms) to get us through the bleak winter games. Anyway, the main question is: who knows a Holmesdale Fanatic? What are they like? Edited by OhthisbloodyPC (29 Sep 2018 9.22am) Edited by OhthisbloodyPC (29 Sep 2018 9.25am)

I have been in crowds at Selhurst of 36,000 v Peterborough, 38000 v Millwall, 40,000 v Man Utd and 51,000 v Burnley and there was great atmosphere then. I am not against a decent atmosphere but I have consistently argued that the HF were WRONG to throw their teddies out of the pram and now cause a lot of loyal fans to be moved. Also I don't accept for one moment that with the HF and a good atmosphere that it translates into wins on the pitch or that we might get relegated without them.
