Let's be honest with ourselves guys... Was he ever going to choose to come to us??.... If I was a betting man I'd say he's never fancied coming to little old Palace!!

No one knows for sure until he moves or the window shuts or we sign someone else. It might still happen. It might not but none of you know one way or the other including myself

He'll only come to us if he doesn't get a better offer. Clearly not keen on Palace so if he signs it will be on deadline day.

We shouldn't be spending £25m+ on one player. It's just not Palace. Would much prefer we spent more money on the Academy and buy cheaper, ambitious future talent. They're out there (ask Leicester) we just need to scout them!

I never really understand the fascination with Sunderland who given their supposed teams of big named players, have continuously battled to avoid relegation over too many seasons of late. Sunderland strikes me as a team to play for who do not mind spending big bucks for a mercenary response.

I read somewhere that Sunderland have to pay relatively high wages to convince players to move there. Mainly due to it not being fashionable place to live but also having a brutal team. I think Moyes will address the latter and they'll be comfortabley mid-table this year.

It's difficult to know what's happening behind the scenes but the impression I get is that we're not 100% committed to buying Benteke (or Berahino/Sakho) and would prefer to shop around for a bit before meeting their excessive price tags. Fair enough to an extent but it's beginning to look like it will backfire.

Surely it's gamesmanship - We've come out and said we're in for 4/5 strikers but we all know CB is no1.

Liverpool know we're their best bet to offload but now, two days after we officially state we're looking at 4-5 options, they miraculously find a few other interested clubs.

I still think we're the front runners here.

Also, Sunderland won't spend that sort of dosh on one player
