The full incident in the earlier video is intentionally shortened for propaganda purposes. A caricature of an event is what satisfies the echo chamber and so the 'edit' becomes the social media reality. There's no excuse for sucker punching anyone but from the unedited footage he and his pal instigated violence against someone exercising his freedom of speech. After pushing the guy to the floor and almost stamping on his head the aggressor then exchange pushes and punches with others. The edited down 'black man bad' narrative fits the bill though so some look no further.. [Tweet Link]

I hadn't seen that video.....it p1sses me off that it's been edited out of context. This guy was obviously initially out of order so I retract my previous commentary on it....he was a fool to turn his back on such 'nice' people....then again, he initiated it. However, I regard your 'black man bad' comment as typical of an ideology, which is itself a reductive view of your ideological opposition. That said, there are plenty of videos showing Antifa/BLM violence last night.....all done when the vast majority of the protesters had gone home (without attacking businesses). Funny it takes a huge group to not even phase him until he gets punched from behind. What this tells us is that these left wing morons are all children or adult children as they should be known. Work and education really needs to get back to normal. Oh but it won’t, and it won’t even further if their Joe Biden Democrat gets in. Good to see them helping the healing. Roma jacket and what’s possibly a Brooklyn accent. Probably a tough Italian who might’ve had a different career decades ago.

This happens a lot on social media unfortunately, left and right, so it's understandable that people are caught out on occasion. While it could be said that individuals should do their homework, 'blue tick' types posting this stuff likely already know and yet do not care about the context, so that is a big part of the problem. Social media is an echo chamber sugar rush and what gets these people the most followers and $$$ is what they go with. That often is a warped reality that routinely omits the full picture. Facts and fairness take a back seat as no-one is mad about 'the nuance channel'. It plays to our worst traits. It's not really in social media networks interests to change this as they benefit from it, but they certainly provide platforms that damage society. Taiwan's approach to using social media to shape society appears to at least have something going for it. Hopefully in future, platforms will emerge that are geared towards at least some aspects of common cause rather than the current approach of feeding habits like a local dealer [Link]

In all of the comments so far on this "rally" and the way some others reacted to it (which if past events are any guide were likely to have been provoked so they could be videoed and used for propaganda), there has been none on the "rally" itself. In the middle of a pandemic which is on the verge of overwhelming the capacity of their health service thousands of people gather together, unmasked and not personally distanced, to spread the virus between themselves so they could take it home and infect those they love and work with. What a bunch of irresponsible dimwits.
Yet some still support him!

The left here certainly condoned the protests (riots). I didn’t voice an opinion on them regarding Covid unless someone was being a hypocrite. Piers Morgan with his son attending protests the biggest hypocrite this year. Edited by Rudi Hedman (15 Nov 2020 11.49am)

Edited by Rudi Hedman (15 Nov 2020 11.49am) There was far more disapproval from Biden and his team than ever there was from Trump. They supported the right to protest but encouraged that it be done in a safe and responsible way. Just look at the contrast between Biden's campaigning style and Trump's at the messages being given. Trump now seemingly approving this behaviour just at a tipping point in the infection rate whilst also attempting to claim credit for a vaccine he had zilch involvement in is beyond stupid. He needs to be removed before he causes any more harm.

Those who deliberately lie on either the left or right ultimately only hurt the ethical justifications upon which their own ideologies stand. There are obviously levels to lying but essentially the world has enough deliberately disingenuous liars who either through mental illness or spite (if there is a difference) cause much more harm in the world than it has to go through already.
