Well, its a generalization because more go, but yes.

Women also often lose much of their prime working years to raising families.

I’ve never really thought about it too much to be honest with you, and know there’s been periods where it has been the reverse. I’ve always just put it down to females being more studious/attentive at a young age and get better grades whereas as soon as a guy hits 15/16 he’s trying to shag anything that moves (and is in the pub in any downtime from that).

Obviously it’s a factor but if a woman has 2 kids that’s 2 years out of a 40 year odd career. It shouldn’t make that much difference. There’s lots of reasons why there’s a disparity at senior levels/in pay. It’s obviously not purely down to discriminatory factors but it certainly is prevalent.

The bell curve and Tom's answer pretty much are the reasons.

In my view, children need their mothers more than the workplace needs another time slave.

Two years? You think that most women only want two years for two children?

If you take your maternity entitlement for each child then it’s two years. I know many take more if they can afford it/childcare costs often make it pointless going back full time anyway.

I agree. Modern women want careers too though and you could make the same argument about needing fathers too.

So we see that the realities of life are much more the answer than any sloganizing.

Personally I think women get a far worse deal than before....feminism has certainly benefited career minded middle class women but it's worsened the prospects for everyone else, especially most women.

Excepting the elite capitalists of course.....more workers, lower relative pay.

I wouldn't be so keen to speak in absolutes, I think most women would like the choice instead of the compulsion.

It's certainly true that children need their fathers, however while the children are young mothers are commonly more important, and nature made most females more maternal for that purpose.

But no father in the home affects the stats on many outcomes negatively.

countries with career women also have unaffordable housing. And the corollary is true.

Stay-at-home women in, say, morocco, have more freedoms than wage-slave women in London.

Countries with a high proportion of career women ? apart from a flashy car, a nice iPhone & interior decor.....what are the real advantages ?

the marriage statistics are in the toilet. A lot of lonely 40 year old women without kids.

regarding 'taking the knee'.... to what extent are the problems of underprivilege associate with the family and education choices of people in poor neighbourhoods.

A ton of single mothers means some dodgy statistics for the neighbourhood's kids....

- educational achievement
- delinquency

- drugs and alcohol problems
- crime

- etc etc

You shouldnt blame the government for a load of absentee fathers. Maybe blame Boris for just a handful of kids, his own.

career women ...ok
stay at home mothers, with a working partner....ok

planned parenthood , single on the dole aged 17....a disaster for society.
