Ah, yes, i kind of remember him playing different parts, will look out for it .

Yep, Eddie Murphy's played, 'whiteface' and Jews stereotypes and that's because he was making the comedy he wanted.

Murphy was doing that at a time where comedic freedom was still important. That's what every comedian should be able to do and the only limit upon it is how funny they are.

There shouldn't be politics involved. The people who have destroyed comedy are those that have set limits upon it other than its market value.

I agree, that some humour is distasteful and inappropriate....however when we get to the stage where people want to economically harm those who tell jokes they don't like.....then you know the loonies are in control.

People used to find it quaint that the BBC had a list of banned subjects, farmers daughters, travelling salesmen, etc.
Jerry Sadowitz didn’t care about television or YouTube and is still causing outrage. Last time I saw him some of the audience looked she’ll shocked at the tirade he delivered.

I still can't buy the blu ray of 'Gone with the Wind' for love nor money.

I've just looked for 1986's 'Soul Man' which is basically a 'blackface' comedy and it's a similar story with that.

These aren't media with malicious intent but they are being portrayed as such by those who are.

The increasing diversity agenda is taking all the fun out of modern films. I find stuff from the 80s, in particular, funnier now. Plus there was usually a gratuitous tits out scene which is always a bonus. I am going to watch the 'woke' James Bond though - as a comedy.
I will probably watch Da Five Bloods if it has any decent Vietnam parts. It is certainly valid to say that black casualties were disproportionately high in that war. I heard something like black people made up 35% of casualties. I could look it up but I think Googling stuff isn't much fun. I like the off the top of my head stuff to keep me on my toes.

I never said they were and didn't make excuses for the behaviour. I said that to pick one person, especially the angriest person they could find, as the representative of hundreds of thousands of people is alarmist. It's the kind of thing that just stokes tensions. If someone had chosen a peaceful person as representative of black lives matter that wouldn't have been true either but at least it may have helped to calm tensions.
The tweet was labelled as 'The true face of Black Lives matter' as though all the other protestors who were peaceful were not supporters at all but the angriest person they could find was the one true representative.
People from both sides do this and choose the most extreme examples as 'The one true face' which is not generally true but does help to solidify people's beliefs and create more anger and resentment towards people on the opposite side.

The "true face" of Black Lives Matter is Marxism. The founders are Marxists. The ideaology and stated aims are Marxist. Karl Marx's ideology has killed millions of people. It is a dangerous ideology that seeks to destroy the culture and history we have created. Giving money to these people furthers their aims, which are most certainly not "harmony and peace". They are dangerous, and being used as a weapon against the society we have built in exactly the same way as Extinction Rebellion. Same stated aims of "bringing down the system", "dismantling capitalism" etc.

BLM co-founder Alicia Garza: "queer social justice activist and a Marxist" (her words)
[Link]

BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors: "We actually do have an ideological frame. Myself and Alicia in particular, we're trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super versed on ideological theories." (her words)
[Link]

So that's 2/3 of the founders, without even taking a look at the third.

Oh, gosh. Is it an election year in the US?

If you had money like Clinton and Trump you could weasel your way out of it. The left would call it 'white privilege' but really it was about class and hence money.

The blacks had less of it so fought in proportionally higher numbers than their population.

Vietnam was a lesson that democracy can't defeat authoritarianism regardless of the power difference because one cares about life far more than the other.

That lesson could have been learnt from previous wars but well, if you don't learn from history you are doomed to repeat it.

Democracies can only fight defensive wars.

Ireland is on the Security Council of the UN now. So it's fair to say the world is now completely safe. Everyone just rest easy.

The comment the club put out is pure cognitive dissonance and rather nasty.
