Have given Tekers the benefit of the doubt on many occassions! Injury, loss of confidence etc, etc. My honest opinion is that he is not lazy but he just does not seem to have a football brain! His reading, anticipation of the game is so poor in my eyes! Really disappointing for me must be bloody sole destroying for his teammates and the coaching staff.

I remember that well. He stood behind the last defender. I was screaming at him. I actually believe he is terified to get a goal scoring chance as his confidence is shot. The only hope of him scoring is putting it on his nut. Edited by EddieMac (11 Aug 2019 8.05pm) Edited by EddieMac (11 Aug 2019 8.05pm)

I'm amazed there are still people with hope that he'll turn himself around. He is absolutely finished.

His movement in the box is atrocious. If they haven't coached him where the ball is going by now it won't happen.

He didn't miss any sitters on Saturday, how much of that is due to lack of opportunity is open to debate.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

I just don't buy that you can lose ability like that. You lose confidence, form...or the team doesn't play to your strengths. Not sure...but can't believe that he's suddenly just become a bad player. But I very much agree he needs to start banging them in soon.

It makes you wonder what they do on the training ground. You would have thought that by now there might be some understanding between the players who put a ball in and Benteke as to when to anticipate, make a run etc. It's quite obvious that he can't create something on his own out of nothing, and needs it on a plate (head) to even look like scoring, which he mostly messes up anyway

He seems to give most people the impression of being a target man who scores more with his head but throughout his career he has mostly scored with his feet. I would think that his problems are more psychological and we should perhaps hire a mental coach to work with him.

I have been one of his biggest supporters the last couple of years and have tried to find any reason to give him the benefit of the doubt but I am really struggling at the moment. I understand the role he plays can be thankless at times but the main issue his his movement when the ball is near the box, he just stands still or puts himself in a position where he cant be found. I am very close to giving up on him.
