Rumour has it that he's hopeless My Arsenal mates hold their heads in their hands if they see him on the team sheet. It’s a big no from me on that rumour.

Rumour has it that he's hopeless He's not as bad as suggested. He kept us at bay easily enough last he played against us. I wouldn't want us to pay much - I'm also concerned if this means we're selling one of Andersen or Guehi. He's not as good as either. Interesting to note we're going after England qualified players, presumably for registration purposes.

So the two extremes seem to be: Henderson, Holding, a full back, Sinisterra, Adams with no outgoings. or No incomings, Eze, Doucoure, Andersen, Johnstone all leave. My guess is that something will happen in the Goalkeeping department, we may, MAY, get one more player up top (winger/forward) and nobody else beyond Johnstone will leave. Only a guess however.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I suspect we’re going to end up with either Iheanacho or Adams if Mateta departs, more likely Adams as we’re probably waiting until the last moment for Southampton to drop the price. Who would you prefer? Iheanacho has better quality in my view and is the better goalscorer. My preference would be for Iheanacho, but in terms of squad balance Adams may be the better fit.

Fair question Pat. I have the idea of a free-scoring, great touch, good link up play and predatory striker Iheanacho in my mind. I also however recognise the reality may well be very different. With Adams you know exactly what you'll get in terms of his physicality, workrate and attitude. With that sorted the only remaining question would be around his talent which I suspect is still yet to really peak or come to the fore. Even so, he'll be far off the Akinbyi, Adebola, Macken, Andrews, Torghelle, Kuqi, Scowcroft and other flops we've had down the years (I ran out of enthusiasm to name them all). It's therefore Adams for me, beyond injuries I think we know what we're getting and can work with that. With Iheanacho, another Benteke could well be on the cards if not just what was once a good player being not so good, occupying space and draining money.

Desperately need a striker, left winger and right back. Being linked with Dean Henderson and Rob Holding. Be interesting to see if there is any correlation being a Palace fan and having high blood pressure.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

According to some Leicester fans, Iheanacho's problem at Leicester was Vardy. Whenever he got a run in the team he produced great stats for goals and assists but spent much of his time on the bench due to Vardy's goal scoring exploits. Having said that, there does seem to be a division among their supporters as to whether he is actually any good! Personally I think if he came in and got a proper run in the team he would be quality. I don't really see any point in Adams. We have Ayew if we want a hardworking forward who doesn't score. As always, if we sign either I'm happy to just see how they perform for us, but that's my view at the moment.

Be good to have both of them competing for a position with one on the bench able to come on and do the same job for us. Adam’s would be a good bye in my opinion as long as we don’t overpay?
