A desperately needed 3 points. Olise and Eze really were magical, apparently neither of them have injuries of note according to Hodgson which is a huge relief as they’ve jointly replaced Wilf in being the sole providers of any threat to opposition goals. I’m trying to not come across as overly enthusiastic or vindictive here but I think all the evidence for Roy needing to go was on display. We start matches half asleep, we conceded a goal after 20 seconds, and looked most vulnerable, because we had a player out of position at RB, generally looked lacklustre and without bite or fight against one of the worst PL teams I’ve seen us play (and I say that without wishing any harm to Sheff Utd), he brought on an overweight Schlupp when our two best attacking threats went off, waited too long to replace an obviously shattered Mateta, had more players out of position by just bringing on the most defensive minded against a team we dominated all match, insanely and unnecessarily invited pressure on a single goal lead (which we nearly conceded), there’s probably more but I’m running out of steam. A manager that does not coach attack and seemingly can’t organise a defence now is beyond useless. The modern game has left him behind and he does look like a clueless fossil being nothing but detrimental to the players and hazardous for the team. That’s not an intentional personal attack on him, it’s just football unfortunately. I couldn’t even work out the formation and game plan by the end. Ozoh looked as though he performed well despite seemingly trying to rationalise whatever bizarre instructions were given to him. Tonight was honestly the first night I really did lose any faith I had left in Roy which is bizarre given we won. I actually left the ground with more questions than beforehand. I’m grateful to our star players for the win, extremely grateful just for the win in fact, but I’m still very nervous and I no longer trust the manager. I spoke with a few fans before, during and after the match and I have to say I was impressed by the unity that I felt at the game. Banners etc. recently had left me concerned with toxicity but it was almost as if the fraternity was palpable amongst us even though many felt either nervous, fed up or both. COYP something against BHA would be incredible! Very good post. Im sure this is the mood of most Palace fans who can get their heads around our predicament.

What is the story with corners? They have become like certain safety for the opposition defence. We haven't scored from one ALL SEASON. Says a lot.

Luton smashed brighton tonight so we should atlease get something from brighton It was an enjoyable watch, if you cant appreciate the magical skill of Olise, there is no hope for you. All you seem to do is moan and look for the negatives

I don’t think I have ever been more disappointed in a game that we have won. And I wasn’t the only one. Had the crossbar not intervened think we would have had a very toxic situation. Roy is clueless. Defending a lead against the bottom placed team? With a makeshift defence. And why was Richards playing RB? Totally out of position for their 1st goal. At least he wasn’t stinking up the midfield. Most of us can see it we should have enough to stay up even with a manager whose strength is organisation but can’t organise our set pieces. And all the rest of it. Late and misguided substitutes. No guile. Etc.

How anyone on here can have a pop at people for criticising Roy and the team is a mystery to me, because we are truly shocking. Henderson is no more a 20 million keeper than I am. When we come out on that pitch we are not focused at all, what the f*** is discussed in training is something other than the next 90 minutes. Roy and the team need their f***ing arses kicked up and down the Holmesdale road. I’m not going to rubbish the opposition last night or the ref, it’s about us as a whole and our lack of professionalism. We deserve to go down, we really do, we look every bit a championship side and club. I came away last night thinking I’m not sure I can watch this s*** anymore!

We had them pinned for most of the game until the manager decided we should shut up shop. When they scored after TWENTY FIVE SECONDS- helped by our out of position RB forgetting he wasn’t playing central- their fans sang - we’re winning an away, how sh!t must you be? We’re winning away. If that doesn’t land with you. Then nothing will.

The positives are that we won the game, got a valuable 3 points and that Olise and Eze played like mem possessed when they were on the field. Edited by The Dolphin (31 Jan 2024 8.33am)

Two of the best attacking players not just at Palace but the whole league and people think we can be the same team without them. Olise is worth at least 100 million if Antony and Grealish are worth what they are.
