Absolutely, and the way Hughes rushes into challenges when he comes on as a sub makes him a red card in waiting. I know he wants to prove he ought to start but he's far too gung-ho when it comes to his decision-making and tackling.

You can say that about Lerma, two challenges away from a red

Aren’t all players 2 challenges away from a red?

Not the way Hughes and Lerma get stuck in!

Really? What are those players of ours doing sat on the bench? In fact, why are they even at the club? Ahamada must be wondering why he's here for starters.
No, it's more to do with Hodgson not being willing to give these players game time, and when you are 2 goals to the good with 20 minutes left on the clock, and some outfield players are showing signs of tiring, it seems to me a good moment to introduce a few, with strict instructions naturally.

I completely agree with this. We might as well have cardboard cutouts on the bench for all Roy apparently cares and it would be cheaper.
Let's be honest, we've never been a club to have a deeply talented bench and probably never will but it needs to have serviceable subs available. You can argue we don't and it's the Boards fault but that's where we are right now and it doesn't excuse the fact that Roy is not managing game minutes per player appropriately.

Success will lie to you but failure always tells you the truth.

Yes, in a nutshell, exactly.

Right, let's look at the subs for Saturday.

Of the 9 we had Matthews as goalie cover and Tomkins as CB cover so that leaves 7.

Of those 3 were defensive centre mids (Ozoh, Jairo and Hughes).

Ozoh is not a defensive midfielder: more box-to-box. He has looked pretty good this year and we should be developing him to start alongside Lerma, Richards or Doucore(next year) especially against weaker teams as none of that trio offer anything meaningful in terms of goals or assists. I hope he gets a start against Everton
