In terms of the RL comment - i personally wouldn't mind if we lumped it forward. Instead whenever we get a free kick outside the final third we pass it back and it usually ends up back with the goalie. Completely pointless.

He probably didn’t need to say it, but he since a kid he has been total football, not even as he moved slowly up the tree did how much people pay to watch the game, or possibly how much the modern game costs to watch. It really was a few pence when he first entered Selhurst Park.
He knows as do others of those still around, that no matter how much you now pay for watching football , Palace and have been competing for ten years in the best league in the world, some of the best players in the world often on show win lose or draw.
And that’s something that Palace supporters of more than ten years of age had never done before.
I’m one of his generation, football for us was always a love affair in its self just with the game. It’s good times it bad times , it’s problems to solve, it’s sheer uncertainty most days, entertainment? Not if that’s all we could claim , the game is far more important than that. At £50/60 whatever a game to get in it’s now entertainment or else it seems , and if you say you never had it so good , as he seems to be saying it’s only the money that provokes a response, because believe me the last ten years good and not so good have never been surpassed.

Wow, you have about 6 goals a game on average in the u21s, eduoard would score about 40 goals a season playing against kids.

I have probably not much new to add, but didn't get back from the game until 1am and just got home from work, so this is my first chance to post.

We were appalling last night, but I wouldn't put much blame on the players. I don't think we lacked effort, but sadly last night's line-up lacks ability. Too many of our players are simply not good enough to be PL starters. Ward, Richards (as midfielder), Schlupp and Clyne (early sub) would not be very good in the Championship, let alone the PL. Edouard and Ayew are mediocre in the PL. Lerma is decent in the PL and I thought had a good game last night, but only Andersen (our best player as usual), Guehi and Olise (disappointing last night) are high quality PL players. That's just not a good enough team in the PL. I wondered what Lerma was thinking, having come to Palace and and seeing his supposedly smaller old team full of players who would have walked into the Palace line-up (and we were heavily linked with at least 3 of them, but "missed out".

Perhaps the board calculated that Roy would keep us up for 1 more season whilst they consider who to appoint next, but they have made a right royal cock-up this time. They have failed completely in the transfer market. Roy is also partially to blame for last night's fiasco. The decision to play Richards in midfield in preference to Hughes or Riedewald was pure defensiveness - not that Hughes or Riedewald are exactly dynamite, but both are more progressive than Richards. Roy then fails to give the young players a chance even when the mediocre old guard are manifestly failing. Why not play Ahamada from the start in place of Schlupp, why not bring Franca on in an attempt to bring some creativity to a team with almost none, why not give Ozoh a chance ? I am not saying these changes would have won us the game, but I don't believe it could have been worse, and maybe one or more would prove themselves up to the challenge.

Perhaps the saddest indictment of last night's performance was that it was no surprise when Bournemouth took the lead. Bournemouth were the better team with the better individual players. The board need to think deeply about that, and Roy...well he won't change will he, he'll just retract further into his shell. I didn't boo the players because I thought they tried and were simply not good enough, and if anything they need our support when the put on the red and blue, however modest their talent.

Which is entirely irrelevant when comparing the scoring rate of players who all play in that division.
