The problem is we are not going to get relegated,(this season) the bottom 3 will be the same at the end of the season, probably 25 points we survive this season, so the thought of the Board spending in January isn't going to happen, maybe a couple of loans, i think before the last two games i am certain Paddy was penciled in for Roy's replacement, because of his work and knowledge of the youngsters, Parish has placed all his eggs in one basket with the academy, and a decent manager from outside will want at least 100m to spend, (like Vieira) can anyone really see that happening, it wont, the Vieira spell has changed the direction completely for the board My view is that there is a greater chance of Academy players being introduced into the fray should we get relegated !

We need goal’s coming from all over the pitch. Plus a new manager may just be more direct to Edouard and Matteta. You saw yesterday Townsend getting the ball early/quickly rather than pussyfooting around. Puts defenders under pressure. We give teams time to regroup? Hodgson has done his required job after PV had to go. It’s time we brought a new guy/team in to get this squad playing again. The last four games has shown its time. We were even lucky to beat Burnley and most of us are saying there are 3 worst teams than us and they and Luton are two of those. Parish needs to act now or we will be heading further down the table than we are already?

Gutting loss with devastating injuries. This season just feels like a non-starter we just get some injuries back and then more come along. Olise finally back to take some creative pressure off of Eze and now all the pressure will be on Olise after Eze's new injury (hopefully it's not too bad). The last two games we should have had something to show for but in both we've found a way to lose, late on and with individual errors. The so called 'easier' run of fixtures has not started well. Results need to improve in the next two otherwise it could be a very grim looking festive season. Decoure's season looks to be over and I wish him a speedy recovery. Our play hasn't been amazing so far but we've also had rotten luck with injuries.

What we could afford is a striker who maybe gets 10 goals a season but works his socks off up front putting the defenders under pressure and holding the ball up. These players are available Eddie and JPM are neither great goal scorers or strikers who make defenders groan when they see the team sheet.

I’ve just had a bet on Roy being sacked. Harsh in some ways. As mentioned a lot is not his fault . It’s just football though and if you ain’t getting results he’ll be gone. Looking at our next run of games it won’t be long. If paddy McCarthy takes over il quit being a fan of 32 years. That would be a joke Why would paddy be such a bad idea? Did you ever watch his 18s and 21s play?

Sadly I agree with you. The last four performances have been awful, including the win at Burnley. Not sure who is available manager wise but we need to bring a new team in to replace Hodgson and Co. Perhaps Potter is the way forward? Today we needed an improvement on the last few matches and sadly it was awful with even our better players looking under par. Players like Richard’s need to be in the back four, even if it means playing 3 centre backs. Ward is now a liability because of his age and needs replacing. There are others but his position sticks out and has done for a while :-( Potter would absolutely ruin eze and olise

I dont think we will buy or sell anyone in Jan, 1 or 2 may go at the end season, but i doubt it will be Eze, Olise or Doucoure, they are tied to 2027 which really is Jan 2026, unless a realese fee is reached, which must be massive (surely) with Eze and Olises new contracts, and Doucoure, i could see both CDs being sold for about 100m+ for the Pair, on another point surely OLA-ADEBOMI is worth a spot on the bench, he has 6 goals in his last 6 games in the under 21s
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Top clubs aim for consistency, and the better players are the more consistent. Some of our players are consistent only in the sense that they regularly score five or six in the ratings. Clubs don't pay big money for that.

Stating the bleedin' obvious, that is a game we should not have lost. If we are playing the blame game, then as Manager, Hodgson has to accept his share. But the players and the Director of Football / Board are in the mix too. Roy was unfortunate to lose two such key players in Eze and Doucoure and it knocked the stuffing out of the players for a period. We all know that the right back position needs addressing. The call for Richards to replace Ward is understandable but you have to question why that's not happened. I don't think the answer is that '' Roy has his favourites ''. His job is to win matches and he clearly believes that Ward is still a better option than Richards. Given he coaches those players and sees them on a daily basis, I'm relying on his judgement here. Another big selection issue is that of Edouard. This guy is stealing a living. He makes Benteke look industrious. Palace can't financially compete for a top striker, and finding a 15 goal a season gem good enough for this league is a tall order. Is it too much to ask for a player that at least works the opposition's centre backs when we're not in possession ? Mateta does that to a degree but not to the standard required. Between the pair of them we are blunt in attack. The goals conceded yesterday were both poor ones, although that ball into the box for their second was of top quality and hard to defend against. Personally I thought Johnstone could have been more positive in that situation. It's been said on here numerous times but the summer transfer strategy looks totally flawed. I could understand the reason for a squad lacking in quantity and quality had we not spent the budget on the players we did. Now Franca may turn out to be another Olise type signing, but it's a huge gamble on that being the case, and there are other areas in the starting line up that needed addressing more urgently. Not even December and already the season looks over and a dour struggle ahead.

I give Parish credit for making us a lower mid table side for 11 seasons, there is some consistency there undoubtedly. By the same token it would appear that this about as good as it gets considering this particular administrative set-up. Therefore it seems reasonable to suggest that to progress some changes would be necessary to that set-up. How likely that is, who knows?
