The post concerns the manager and not the spendthrift owners. We all know what we have and haven’t got in terms of players but how you utilise what you have is solely down to the manager. Yes indeed. I recognise a number of strawman arguments on here...

Potter remains my preference to succeed Roy but I can't see it happening and think Cooper would be a fantastic option. I think a lot of what went wrong there was down to the owner, rather than Cooper, and their fans seem absolutely gutted that he's gone. Ex-manager of England U16s and U17s, he'd be brilliant with the academy and is much more likely to bring guys like Franca on. He'll probably take 6 months off now but could see it in the summer.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

I do wonder how different we would look under Cooper. He also seems a very cautious manager. A lot seems to be resting on the idea that he would get the best out of our younger players. It's also strange that Forest are apparently replacing him with Nuno who seems an odd choice to me. I actually wanted Nuno at Palace before he asked to bring half of Portugal with him and made a mockery of the whole deal, but he hasn't exactly done much since. Mind you, I think Marco Silva has surprised many people and he was apparently rejected by Parish.

Despite making Beardsley and Dowie look like sex gods, I agree with you.

To be honest I don't get why were are interested in Cooper.

Yes it is otherwise you would be satisfied that we play as well as is possible under our present circumstances. You want a change of personal, what for to play the same way?
It's not only 27,000 Palace fans though. You can add about 50,000 Liverpool fans and hundreds of thousands of England fans.

Who ever does become the next Palace manager the board, must be able to seriously back him by boosting our senior squad with at least three ready to use players.

Might also be: Younger (not hard) I’m a bit on the fence with Cooper, or rather finding it hard to make an informed judgement. I therefore will refrain from giving an opinion as I do not particularly have one either strongly in favour or against. Que sera sera.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
