You have no idea what efforts are being made behind the scenes, either directly or in multi faith groups, to try to educate those with Stone Age thinking. We are doing it in schools, on TV and in the work place. Branding all with the same label doesn’t help anyone. Especially us.
The main Book is riddled with calls to brutal violence. The statistics bear out that those calls are being heeded.

That is the original Mail report, which based on past experience is best taken with a large dose of salt. There is more wind up there than information. Just because someone would like to do something doesn’t mean they will be allowed to. British law applies in Scotland just as it does in the rest of the UK and any developments will require planning permission. We will see just how far this goes but I doubt it will get anywhere close to reality. Does it not worry you that somebody who would like to do those ‘somethings’ is allowed to be in this country? His recruits probably arrive every day amongst those crossing the Channel; some can’t wait for the camp to open and travel to Southport instead…
hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing. |

That doesn’t mean that the educated and wise are unable to set such things in their context of time and place. Modern, educated western Muslims are just of capable of doing the same, and do so every day. We need to work hard and ceaselessly to bring everyone to that threshold. The coming generations will be helped in school. Handling the current generations is where the issues lie. It can, and is, being improved but the problems won’t disappear overnight.

Their argument seems more to do with the Sunnis than it does with us, so keeping an eye on Iranian support will be on the radar. This sort of thing is often like a game of chess. You try to keep your moves ahead obscure. Our guys are pretty good at it.

Will this be in the 30 or so public funded Muslim faith schools or one of the 180 private ones. The bigger problem is the teachings in some Mosques? No school should be a single faith school if we want tolerance of others

No-one thinks you've made good sense. Or if you think some have, perhaps you could direct me to their appropriate posts. Wrong. I do. Whether anyone else does here, or not, isn’t really important as I know for sure there are many outside this obscure little bubble of extreme opinion that do. So let’s have an answer!

correct. The mistakes of Northern Ireland must not be repeated. As I have said many times in these threads my own opinion is that there should be no faith schools of any kind in the UK. Religion should be taught as a subject, covering the tenets of all the major religions, and the beliefs of those who hold no religious belief. Religious influences should not appear at school. British values of tolerance and respect are what should be the mainstay. Religion is for church and home. It would be resisted but it needs to be insisted upon. Live here, live by our rules. Respect them and you will be respected too.
