Glenn Murray has gone down in my estimation,on Sky agreeing with Redknapp that United should have had a penalty. Also were the Sky microphones in the away end only as could hardly here our fans all game? We were in the Upper Holmesdale and there was not much noise from down below even after the goal.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

I agree 100%. They might have just touched boots with front foot but not enough for a foul, it was the trailing leg thrown sideways at Richards leg that tried to make it look like a penalty. It was a good call by the ref. Out of the penalty area no one would have looked twice at it. I have just seen the incident on a video clip and it was certainly NOT a penalty. I understand both Messrs Redknapp and Murray concluded that a penalty should have been awarded and I suggest that they book a visit with the opticians! Someone informed me that Redknapp asserted that the referee should have consulted the monitor. This only happens if the VAR makes such a suggestion and clearly VAR did not intervene. Just had a laugh at a Moan United fans forum. Apart from complaining about not getting a penalty the biggest laugh was them complaining about the weakness of their bench. If only Pat had those problems. There were the occasional posters saying we deserved a draw but mostly they were moaning about Rashford. LOL.

I couldn't help laughing at one United fan's comment (I paraphrase): "If, next time Rashford scores, he points his finger at his brain, I'm gonna whack the brainless buffoon." And then that usual comment when a supporter's sense of entitlement has been offended: "Outplayed by Crystal f*cking Palace." I love it.

Quite amusing on one of the MU forums, along with the usual How can we not beat THEM comments someone has posted it was the worst night ever. He obviously wasn't there when we turned them over at their place 1-3 or 1-2 the year before but worst night ever? Oh, well. We can only hope he gets over this crushing disappointment. Well we play them 'up there' very soon, when we'll be able to give him an even worse night!

I would have given the pen but understand why it wasn't. Neither side played 100%. It was a good game punctuated by innumerable unforced errors from both teams. Cliff played OK. Hughes terrific at breaking up play; not so good at distribution. I think he needs to concentrate on simple passes to someone who can pass. de Gea MOTM for me speaks volumes. We deserved at least the point. Sky's bias is painful. All pre-match was manure. Most commentary was manure. Half time chat was manure. Sky on twitter said the Olise goal had ROBBED (their capitals) manure of all 3 points (did they watch the same match as me?). Then again, is that news? I opened the BBC Sport app this morning. On the football menu page was a photograph of a Moan U player applauding something or someone like a performing seal, with the headline underneath saying something like "I must blame the players for dropped points" - Ten Haag. Imagine my surprise when I clicked on it only to learn that Crystal Palace FC was also part of the story.

Far more satisfying to appreciate the positive aspects of an excellent Palace performance rather that get caught up in the negative static that fills the airwaves from the likes of Moan U.
