How is your position that Vieira and Roberts are out of their depth, but you think Freedman and Derry (both of whom failed as managers in the lower leagues) wouldn't be? Does that make a shred of sense?

So Freedman and Derry are Failures as is PV, done nothing, Freedman built a great team, made the mistake of leaving and Hollaway and Pardew destroyed them.

Your argument is that Vieira is out of his depth, and you want to replace him with two blokes who've never managed a single game in the top flight, barely did as players, and both of whom have stepped back from management positions in recent years.

It makes 0 sense.

Like many others on here I was at the game last night.
I have given myself time to reflect but I feel as flat now as I did after the game.
We did okay in the first half and should have scored at least one goal - we didn't.
They have Harry Kane - he had two chances and scored with both, albeit they were gifted by Ward and then Ward/Schlupp.
The Son goal was a dreadful error by Guehi - never let a high ball bounce chaps!
Can't even remember the other goal to be honest.
Too many individual errors, a poor team selection and generally a team without ideas or a plan.
I am worried about the team and the Manager currently.
PV seems to want to play without a recognised centre forward but to me it isn't working and is an idea that should be ditched right now with either Mateta or Edouarde given an extended run in the side.
Wilf and Olise either side of him with as strong a midfield as we can muster but one without Eze for the moment - he is a luxury we cannot afford right now.
Ward, Clyne and Schlupp are past their sell by dates and need replacing.
We have to start winning the midfield battles and we just are not doing that at the moment.
Our need for a strong, forward thinking midfielder is paramount above everything else in my opinion.
When we pressed forward as team in the first half last night we looked good so we need more of that please!

It doesn’t help when your team mates decide they don’t need to make runs into space.
CD was outnumbered in midfield not for the first time

I know there are a lot of players who should be criticised but can someone please explain to me what Jeff Schlupps role is in that team? The chap is absolutely horrific. He is a marker of where we are at this current stage and as long as he in that starting 11 it is guaranteed that we are not moving forward as a club.

Have a look at the replay and you will see the 1st goal came from a very poor clearance from Guehi I think, straight into Spurs player into the middle of the park.Second was the same type of mistake with Andersen clearing. Which is also Exactly the same thing that Andersen did against Fulham.

Most goals in football are scored after turnovers when the defending team is not set, and we lose more than our fair share this way with bad passing from the back.

I can’t remember the game but Luka lost possesion in the same way and we lost a match. Teams have our cards marked because they know it will happen.

Marc was arguably the best player on the pitch first half, fantastic.

Their first goal however, he actually looked to have time to take the ball down, or at least head it elsewhere. He headed straight down the middle of the pitch, as if without thinking or looking, to an isolated but forward moving spurs player as of course our midfield was nowhere to be seen. It came from that and I’d suggest hard to argue otherwise.

A lot of our players struggled to keep the ball and we gave it away needlessly time after time. Predictable, lethargic, uninventive and lazy. Painful at times and more so when the other team starts scoring for fun.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Whilst I enjoyed the first half we should’ve expected a fight back from Spurs and getting over the 10-15 minutes in the second half, akin to the first, then reasserted our game plan.
I do feel we have been here before with inverted wingers cutting in to supply crosses (to whom?, no Benteke to blame)or to score and lately these are our only options.
I am frustrated that we have talent, where we didn’t have before but unable to score or adjust when needed to a different game plan where a point would be creditable.
We also spend an awful lot of time sourcing first team players who may or not be selected including proven injury prone. Waiting for academy players to come through may pay dividends in the long run but are we really going to thrust them in to a relegation battle?

We prided ourselves every year with a far superior goal difference than those around us, we need to be tougher to beat. The back 4 and Guaita are under immense pressure and it’s inevitable they will concede if the midfield go missing. I do like Doucoure and see him breaking up play and getting up the field but he can’t do it all on his own.

If we had lost 2-0 I would of been annoyed after the first half display, 4-0 I was shell shocked.
I agree with the comments on here that game management, team selection and procurement are the causes of poor performances.

To some this might sound as if we have an array of talent in the squad.
Who are these talented PL players ? - Mateta,Clyne,Ward,Schlupp,Hughes,Milivojevic,Riedewald,Tomkins,Ayew,Mitchell etc etc. Poor McArthur has been injured for quite a while and the likelihood is we will never see him in the shirt again.

Yesterday was the worst performance I can remember from him since he signed - so, so careless with his passing and a complete passenger out of possession.

Too many of this squad are coasting as they know they get a start regardless - he's definitely one of them.

We said this before the game. Very Hodgson-like that you know the team before it is announced

He was voted our best player by the BBC, it would help if someone made some runs, not standing still looking at him, if we had the same 10, with Kane instead of Ayew we would have won comfortably, a CF is our priority, as usual, you might as well get rid of Edouard and Mateta if PV thinks they are not first team standard

Your comment regarding others making runs for Eze, is exactly the problem tgat Doucoure has, but you choose to just say he brings nothing to the team. If we had players who made runs, everyone would benefit
