I'm sure almost no one watched PV coach NYCFC; I did and he always played high intensity. He was a very good coach, although he couldn't put the pieces together to win the league. What he did with Harrison was amazing, it's why Leeds values him so much. A great coach makes every player better. Look how he's made Wardy and Luka into new players. I was just amazed today seeing Wardy in the middle of the pitch, under previous managers he basically hugged the right sideline. I actually voted for Ward as my player of the month in September. I also LOVE watching us play. We've only been completely outplayed in one game - Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Had to say I was worried after that game. Now I'm super excited. I really think we can challenge any team. Super excited against Arsenal, I think they'll crumble under us. Onwards and Upwards!

Vardy is a sly old Fox. He knew the momentum was with us and was down for over 4 mins and we then only get 5 mins injury time. How does that work with all the other stops and time wasting in second half? It should have been 7 mins minimum.

Seven games in, Viera looks to be a fine manager. However, in Gallagher, Guehi, Olise, Edouard, Andersen (except for the past 100 minutes) and perhaps Hughes, he is blessed with talent far livelier and more skilled than Roy ever managed at Palace. And Mitchell's minutes at the end of last season helped him to make a huge leap forward. So I think it's possible to say Vieira is a wonderful manager, and Hodgson was, too. There is simply no way Hodgson could have set up his players to press high and control the ball as Viera wants HIS players to do.

Sit here feeling a disappointed for the second time this week. But again, the performance was great and it wont be long before we are putting it all together consistently. Mistakes are annoying, but fixable. Much rather that than the goals coming from constant pressure. I also that we’ve been a little unlucky that the 3 mistakes have resulted in 3 goals, all taken really well. A few observations: The high intensity pressing really rattles teams, even players who always look like they have time don’t like to be hurried. Edoaurd leads that from the front which is great to see. The midfield 3 is working really well. Luka is showing that when he has some energy around him he still has a lot to give. One thing I noticed in particular today was the amount of on pitch leadership from him. Constantly talking and moving others around. Ward is playing like a man possessed. I’ve always been a bit critical of his footballing talent, but he is playing as well as I’ve ever seen him. He’s the example of someone playing on the very edge of his ability. Effort goes a long way. PV with great subs today. I was surprised with Gallagher coming off, if he was flagging Hughes would have been the obvious swap. But Jeff came up with the goods. I’m glad Benteke has now been relegated to a plan B, but I personally would still rather not see him on the pitch. As a lot of joy came from the high press, I think we looked less threatening when Edoaurd came off. Olise took his goal well, and looked to get the ball in wherever he got the chance. Big expectations for him, looked a real live wire. But in the same breath I think the stick Ayew gets is a bit harsh. Right sub, but the guy didn’t have a bad game, worked hard and still produced some really nice bits of skill. All in all, it was another exciting performance and I’m just gutted we have an international break.

This high intensity style is like football on steroids. We are rattling all the opposition now. Before long all our players will be getting rotated through the system. So Hughes will come in, Rak Saki and then Eze and hopefully Ferguson. Edited by dreamwaverider (04 Oct 2021 4.19am)

This though i think is a positive as in the past when Wilf was not playing we struggled to create chances. Now with people like Olise, Eduard & Eze we have other sources of players who can create chances at this level.

Can't say I'm convinced by Eduoard just yet....should've buried that one that hit the crossbar and missed a sitter at Liverpool. But time will tell.

Zaha Edouard Olise sounds good to me, almost Zaha Murray Bolasie esque, yes Edouard needs a little work he does get himself in the right place so another couple of goals and he will score more often

Wilf has been having a good season. Just because he had an average game you don't drop him. Schlupp is an ideal impact sub really as he's fast and direct. When he starts he seems to lack focus and his passing isn't the best, but when he has a simple instruction (i.e. get in the box) he seems to thrive. Olise on the other hand will surely be edging Ayew out soon for a starting place based on that cameo. Ayew has been a model pro but if we are to progress we need more than just hard work and endeavour from our front players. Edouard will prove to be a great signing. A little bit more sharpness and he'll start banging them in. Compared to Bentenke he seems to be in the right place at the right time with the ability to create space for a shot and actually get one away. So we keep quietly improving, largely ignored by the media. Ok so it's only 7 points, but we've already played 5 out of the top 7 from last season, plus two of the most in form teams this season. Keep progressing like this and a top 10 finish might not be out of the question.

I gave Eduoard my man of match. His little runs around the box, deft flicks and the way he beat defenders with apparent ease was great to watch. I agree he should have scored, probably hit it too well but the way he made the initial space deserves credit. I honestly believe he will become a cult hero at Palace.
