Hodgson mentioned there were a couple of more injuries.
I note in a couple of predicted line ups in media outlets neither Luka nor Ayew are included.
I wonder if they are the injured players.
Kouyate is down as starting in midfield with Mateta replacing Ayew.
I’m looking forward to the game.
With both clubs looking over their shoulders it has a cup tie feel with perhaps more at stake in any game between them since the play off semi.
I can’t say I’m overly confident, but sometimes it suits Palace to be the underdogs which they seem to be this game.

We are going into this fixture as underdogs to an in form team.
Even BBC 's Lawro in line with most pundits, has us down to lose 2-0.
Time to prove them all wrong.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

We just have to not lose, don't care how we go about it the point or points are more important than ever from this game!

I think tonight game will answer a few questions.
If we win or draw and show commitment and play well all good.
If we lose but have had a real go, we at least have hope.
If we get well beat and put in the same shift as the last two games we are in real trouble.

Worried it will be your last alternative. And rumours say Benteke to start in - once again - 4-4-2 -with Brighton cutting thru our midfield like there is no one there.

Never doubted we would win!

I don't think I have ever said this before, but this is the first time in my life where I am just not looking forward to a derby game aginst Brighton. Usually I would be looking forward to this fixture months in advance, yet I can barely muster the energy to watch 90 minutes of us in our two banks of 4 defending stance.

Naturally I will watch it,I'm like a Palace junkie, I can't miss my fix.

I hope I am so, so wrong, and that we will be able to scavenge a point, but I just can't see it at all....

I feel the same way.

I like the 'Palace Junkie' bit, I really wish I was the type to not bother watching, not renew my season ticket etc but I can't help it. I promised myself I would only watch the second half tonight and that is if we were still in the game, I know I'll still end up watching from the beginning however.

I'm not looking forward to it at all, I live in hope of course but I cannot justify it in my own mind that we'll do anything but lose. It's football so you never know but it's genuinely making me feel ill.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Tonight's match report

5 mins

At a corner Dunk rises like a salmon at the far post and powers the ball into the net past the despairing hands of.... the Brighton goalkeeper. Best OG of the season.

0-1 Palace.

6-90 mins
It's like the Alamo, the Palace goal leads a charmed life wave after wave of Brighton attacks are beaten off and Palace haven't had a single chance on goal.

Injury time
The Brighton no 9 is clean through he must score only to be brought down in the area by our keeper the clearest penalty this season. Unfortunately the referee had something in his eye and didn't see it, never mind that's what VAR is for.

There is a long wait before the ref is told that VAR headquarters lost all pictures just as the incident happened and so it's the ref's call. Meanwhile a Palace fan nonchalantly walks away from the ground quietly slipping a pair of wire cutters into his pocket.

FT
0-1 to Palace the Brighton players are in uproar and 3 of them are sent off after the game. In the pressie Roy praises the lads and says we were unlucky not to score more.

Well we can dream can't we
