Sorloth flourished away from Selhurst so perhaps the same could happen to Benteke as there is a good footballer in there somewhere

I will put my head above the parapet and agree with you

I doubt it. Sorloth was 22 to 23 and just entering his b3st years. Benteke is pushing 30 and on his way to the lower divisions or back to Belgium in a few years.

I reckon he will do well. This would have been a big signing and one for the future too (although the buy out clause may still exist). I thought the quoted fees were fair - much fairer than we've paid for Sakho and Benteke.

Yep,he's signing shortly for Sheffield U as we,once again, miss the boat.
In all fairness, why should we agree a deal on Liverpool's terms in respect of a buy back clause??
Think we have lost a kings ransom in the Benteke,Sakho deals and have learnt by our mistakes!!

Benteke will be short term cover for Spurs they will not worry about sell on. Benteke will not play in lower league in U.K., back to Belgium maybe

To a certain extent I agree but buy back of £40m for initial outlay of £17m sounds ok to me. Bear in mind is this any different to sell on clauses, how much will Utd get if Wilf goes?

Nowhere near what he's worth.

A possible £60m player in this market going for £40m is laughable but Sheff Utd haven't scored yet this season I believe?

Looks like one of our 'new boys found out' panic buy. Queue us gazumping them last minute!

It looks like he's certainly going to be moving somewhere. I'd be interested to know the clause details when he does. I.e Whether the buy back clause has a 2 year expiry, or increased value after 3 seasons etc. As much as I think Brewster would be a good addition, I'm also wary about being taken to the cleaners again re Benteke and Sakho fees.

The buy back element is not appealing if he does well - as it leaves Liverpool holding all the aces. If they want him the have him back regardless of our wish to sell (so long as buy back fee reached) - it’s a glorified loan.

A percentage of future sale leaves the decision about any future sale firmly in our hands. So if this is our position I fully support it.

Brewster would be brilliant but not at the risk of having our pants pulled down by Liverpool.

Spurs arw probably getting Milik from Napoli. Used to be really giod too, but looks trash after having broken his leg.

Can't imagine they would actually prefer Benteke though.
