Why should Palace pay a hefty recall fee? Unless of course the fee is eg £10m and Leipzig will then pay us £20m.

My view - in the current financial climate with Covid, we will be lucky to get above £40m for Wilf and Sorloth combined (taking into account the % owed to Man U for Wilf). With that sort of cash and much of the Wan-Bissaka residuals, we should be ambitious. The website transfermarkt suggests that relative deadwood on high wages like Benteke, Sakho and Meyer are out of contract at the end of next season. Don't know if this is accurate. My point is that we should have at least some cash to spend even in the current climate and with our academy ambitions. Trabzonspor failing FFP will hopefully work in our favour for the Sorloth deal.
I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry. |

It won’t be us, if he pulls the loan deal he will likely forfeit bonuses etc...which is why he won’t. Plus what assurances will we give him that we will go through with the deal. The worry also is If he did cancel the loan and he failed a medical etc.....then what. He would be stuck with us. His best hope is the two clubs come to some agreement. However, this seems unlikely. Why would Palace do this, there would be nothing in it for us? This needs to be resolved soon before the Leipzig move onto other targets

If he tells the Turks he wants to move on then it is not in anyone's interests keeping an unhappy player, and they know that as per Eddie Newton's comments.

Wonder what his form last season would have translated to in the premier league last season ? Maybe 15 goals, possible place in Europe I think it's probably a done deal to Leipzig if he wants to go there Wonder if Palace will learn a lesson from this. We did the same thing with Murray, even though we proved he could do the job

At the end of the day it's all about what Sorloth can get out of it for himself. If he's euros in by moving to Lipzieg he'll force through the move, if the Turks improve his wages no doubt he'll hang on for a second year.

Just seen him in Sainsbury's car park being driven by Ross McCormack. Not 100% sure though, they were wearing face masks.

If I were palace I would say, ok, initially you have the right to own him after the two year period, so you can wait until then and risk having an unhappy player or an injured player or a poor run and someone nobody wants... or, you can give us 6 mil now or whatever the fee is and 40% of any sell on fee. so they buy him for 6, sell him for 25, give us $10 mil (we make 16mil in total) they keep their share which is 15 mil and profit 9 million. That's tasty. However, we all know lawyers and what not will exploit and play victim to anything to make a dollar.
