Show-reel knockout by Chisora there.

Steamrolled.

Classy performance from Whyte.

I was well pleased for Whyte tonight. He's a grafter and is routinely avoided by the top tier because they know taking him on wouldn't be a formality. It's a travesty that he's been sidestepped for a title fight for so long and now I 'hope' there are no longer any excuses. This is boxing of course so who knows, but the man can do no more than he has.

I thought Whyte got away with it last night.
He looked very tired in the closing rounds and Rivas kept coming on.
A good scrap but the homeboy got the decision as they usually do.
The Chisora fight was a joke. The other guy should not have been in the same ring.

Completely agree that Whyte deserves his shot, however I wouldn’t say it was a travesty that he has been sidestepped.

To be fair I didn’t think he had done much to have been given his chance against AJ. Whytes problem is that he doesn’t bring an audience. He plays neIther the nice guy (AJ) or the showman (Fury)

He’s now in line to fight for Wilders belt. Personally I think Wilder KOs him and Fury outboxes him.

I would however say he has an even chance at beating AJ as AJ has regressed and Whyte probably improved.

Separate note, fair play to Manny last night on becoming a world champ at 40! Very special fighter.

A mate I was chatting with last night as we watched made a similar comment. He said the guy just isn't that likeable. I can see where you're both coming from in a way, as he doesn't have a clearly defined niche within a sport where you do need to generate interest in your ascent.

In the PPV age you need an angle or column inches and so far Whyte hasn't really had that. By rights he should get the Wilder fight now though as you say, so at least his has his big opportunity. Wilder, being a knock out merchant could well make fast work of it, assuming that he gets past old Father Time Luis Ortiz first!

As for AJ, yes I think that could be a match up that'd go either way. I'm really not sure what's going on with him mentally right now. Whether Ruiz just exposed his weaknesses and was one to avoid, or AJ has been somewhat flattered by past results.

Agreed. In that division and at his age it's hard to overstate how impressive his achievement is.

Did you see the joke fight the other week that Khan is now trying to parpay into a Manny Pacquiao fight? It had to be seen to be believed haha

Bought the boxing last night, fell asleep. Just watched it on catch up.
Thought Whyte done well, has improved so much, but just think wilder, fury and AJ would all be him. Definitely needs his title shot though.
Manny (can’t spell his last name), what a fighter, so good. Still think that when he was blasting people away, he would have stopped Mayweather. Spence I think will be too big for him, expect he would work Khan. Quality boxer and man.
