Forget to press send last night!
Back from the game and we should have got at least a draw.
All Wayne Hennessey lovers should not watch MoD tonight - he is awful and always will be - the whole team lost its confidence as soon as he came on.
Roy should have made his subs earlier and given the physicality of Watford Benteke was never going to be the answer - Wickham would have been better.

They took their chances are boys misssed ours. It happens its football you can't fault any player in Palace shirt for not to the best to win today. We lost get over it.

He does and he did, not his fault is it that McArther missed and not his fault that Zaha missed, also not his fault that Foster saved Milivojevic's volley and also Wan-Bissaka's lovely run and low cross that Ayew got his foot to, it is not the fault of the manager when the players ferk up glorious opportunities ..the same goes to defending when we decided to throw it all away in a ridiculous seven minutes.

Yes I’m frustrated with Roy’s non existent in game management but the players should take the blame for that v Watford. Roy will probably keep us up but he’s not the answer longer term. I wouldn’t be confident with his transfers or cementing a playing style for the longer term. It was palatable last season because the results were so good being on the right side of the fine margins when playing a game of 2-3 chances between both sides in the whole match.

We just have to grit our teeth through this football for a few more months and hope Parish is looking at new managers and not planning 7 holidays with no new manager ideas this summer. Sadly I’m not confident on that one, new girlfriend to impress and all that. Maybe he should impress her and do his holidays long haul in February. More impressive, interesting and exciting anyway.

But of course that was Hodgsons fault.

Because finishing chances is a skill which can and should be practised.

Will be honest and say I didn't see the game as at a family wedding!

Having just seen MOTD certainly seems as with the game at our player we were saved to some extent by Foster at vital moments and taking our chances when they came.

I think you'll be fine - despite lacking a forward with goals you create enough chances it seems to pick up points whereas teams at the bottom don't.

Your keeper did have a good game, aided by our woeful finishing. We also have Roy who doesn’t have a clue about substitutions, and when to use them.
Watford look good this season, it would be interesting to see how your wage bill on players compares to ours. Also your buying of players seems pretty astute, again we are f***ing clueless...

They more then likely bang nine out of ten in! ..on a Watford forum I read many posts where they mentioned exactly the same about their players missing chance after chance...their first opportunity with the two posts springs to mind! I keep thinking in the next match our luck will change, but.....
To blame one person for this is non productive for fans in our situation, Hodgson knows exactly what is happening and he too will be thinking exactly the same as to what can I do to stop them wasting chances.

I feel having Wickham on wouldn't of stopped McArthur missing and nobody can say McArthur misses those chances very often from 2''and Wickham has been out for such a long time and come back and been injured again that I feel Hodgson is now playing him brilliantly to prevent further setbacks.

Benteke has just got to wake up surely!!!

Wanting Hodgson gone is just throwing away even more money the club doesn't have and as far as I can tell the players are happy behind him, I understand the reaction with horrendous frustration in football is to attack the manager after a game but it is ridiculous at this time of year and with someone of his experience, nobody can say that most of the games we have lost we have deserved to lose ..just four points puts us level with Brighton and one below Bournemouth and no one can say they've had awful seasons.

Frustration that's all it is.

We've had a few iffy ones too like Andre Gray for 17 million but then who doesn't I guess.

Truble is clubs like ours cannot afford to waste money so much like the big boys.

Deeney is reported to be the highest paid on 100k a week (probably somewhat over the top!) and then Doucoure signed a new deal for 70k but he will leave in the summer.

Probably players like Deulofeu and Pereyra aren't cheap either but the defenders naturally earn less.

We seem to miss some easy chances and then score a cracker or two.

Almost as if they have too much time to think when clean through whereas a shot outside the area can be an instinctive reaction.

Yet another game where we dominated for spells but never looked like scoring. As above Zaha and Townsend seem to be the main culprits. Bit radical this, but perhaps it’s them that need replacing? Our defence can’t always hold out as seen today when those in front of them fluff so many chances. The final ball by those two mentioned is so poor as is their shooting. Yes Townsend will occasionally score a worldly but we need bread and butter goals from him and crosses that don’t involve forever taking another touch/cut back before sending it in? Zaha now seems to be allowed to have the ball by opponents without them jumping in at him as they know he will screw up sometime in his possession as seen today with shooting and crossing. Credit to Watford today though as they never gave up and all the while we had just the one goal (scored by them) they had a way back. Benteke back will probably mean the long ball to him again which may be the answe if he sticks a few away - im not holding my breath though :-(

Fair point but as you say probably too radical, particularly in relation to Wilf. At the moment I can't see how we are going to score a goal without recruiting. Wilf is our most talented attacker at the club but we don't seem to have the players to work with him, Andros as well. They are fast wingers so we need players to be up with them, just like JMac did but couldn't convert. To be fair to him he isn't an out and out striker. Roy hasn't brought in a player/s like that but to be fair to him as well previous managers haven't looked at this. The likes of Tekkers/Wickham can hold the ball up well to bring other players into play, relieve pressure but unfortunately that isn't going to put the ball into the net, particularly if it is fed out to the wingers with no support. Fast foxes not slow oxes (sic) is required. Unless we get player/s in who can work with Wilf then the hard fact might be he has to leave to go further, like Sterling, who has an embarrassment of riches at Citeh in terms of attack. One further point we need to be showing at home from the start that we intend to attack with at least one attacking midfielder picked to push us forward and willing and encouraged to get into the box.

Management, motivation, coaching, game plan and tactics are down to the manager. Our position in the PL doesn't lie I afraid. I'd give Roy 9/10 for last season, but this season even 3/10 is being generous.
Schlupp on instead of Wickham? 3 Defensive midfielders at home? No subs until it's too late? The list can go on...

This season their buying seems astute! not before! just because they are having a strong season now doesn't mean they are doing things better then us, I bet when the season ends there will be just six to seven points between us.

If so I suspect previous experiments may mean another conservative appointment.
