Again false shows you didn't watch the game and if you did then you didn't understand it.

Zaha and Townsend kept trying to take on players when there was no need and again Zaha needs to stop with the tricks he beats the man and then wants to try beat him again.

Townsend was poor today lost the ball many times and wasn't even trying to put balls in the box.

I think you are just trolling for reactions so I wont be commenting on anymore of your stupid posts.

As usual you are being seriously glass half empty

Townsend had a good game and was our most dangerous player. On the other hand Zaha did not. He got frustrated at the punishment he received and our difficulty scoring and ended up trying to go it alone too much.

Ayew was on a mission.

I do wonder about our fans at times; yes it was Grimsby, but as soon as they went down to 10 men it was always going to be hard to break down a team that is hell bent on sitting deep and closing teh space down...we did it to the best team in teh country not more than 3 weeks ago!

Also, as a result i dont think Sorloth played that badly, he brought players into play far more than we've seen recently and actually ran about!

I was however dissappointed with Meyer, Wilf (both of whom should've shown far much more nouse and quality given the amount of posession they had) and Suoare! I think for the latter that'll be the last we see of him in a Palace shirt...apart from 2 of the best corners we've put in all season he was ...well WOEFULL. 3 times he let their right winger in behind him in the first 20mins...he was all over the place.

Dann was a sight for sore eyes though, again, it was against a team 3divs lower but his passing and threat at set pieces gives us much needed cover in that area..I also thought Reidewald played intelligentlly (esp in the period of 5mins that we were down to 10men as well).

We, as a team simply struggle to break teams down...Cardiff was a prime example of that with our full strength 11 and that simply comes down to us slowing the ball down in teh final third when instead thats when a team should in fact pick the pace up (just look at City, arsenal and liverpool when they get in to the final third).

So lets get some persepective shall we, we won, thankfully had no injuries and some players on the fringes got some much needed game time.

Very good.

We won. Onto the next.
Yes some players didn't perform to their ability but they were up against a side with nothing to lose and for them it's a chance to play against top quality players whereas it's harder to be motivated in the same regards when at vice versa.
Fair play to Grimsby.
But we did what we had to do.
Get through.

How is that trolling??

It isn’t. It is a ridiculous allegation. I agree with you that Andros had a good game. He was unlucky not to score and once again ran his heart out.

We are in the hat for the 4th round, kept another clean sheet, have a key player back from injury and have a striker who is on fire so you are right to be positive. It’s a shame there are so many on here determined to put a dampener on things right from the KO. Calling a fellow eagle a troll simply for praising the team is a new low however and warrants an apology. I’m sure there will be cause to moan and complain in the days ahead when the inevitable happens, but right now we are in a good place. Let’s just enjoy it.

The late goal did make the whole game more entertaining but:
- we had hit both posts and had a shot cleared off the line in the first half.
- there's a massive problem with our attack and I don't thinks it's down to the players. Without someone like punch behind the striker they don't get the service. Why play a holding midfielder against a 10 man league 2 side And only one striker when your preferred formation is 442?
- schlupp was missing in his midfield role and did not provide enough support as left back.
- Mayer needs to be further forward.
- the wingers were too narrow.
- all our strikers lack movement like it's some kind of instruction.

6 goals at home with 3 from open play is simply not good enough.

A great result as far as I'm concerned, but I do lament Zaha's decision-making sometimes. I think it was Meyer? standing in space in the box gesturing for the ball to shoot and Zaha was in a world of his own opting for a canon into the crowd of defenders. Love him though. Appreciate what he does. But he CAN improve.

I thought Zaha had a shocker. The number of times he tried to beat the whole Grimsby team when he would have been better off picking out a team mate was criminal.

Totally agree. He had no interest in passing the ball. It was a selfish performance and of a poor standard considering the amount of poor shots, wasted opportunities and times he was tackled.

Head shaking and arm flapping again at his team mates. I think he seriously needs taking down a peg for his own good. Bench him.

Just glad we got through in the end. Was disappointed in Meyer as I think he should be bossing games like this when you consider the song and dance that was made when we sign him

Zaha needs to get a decent haircut looks like someone has shat on his head. Don’t particularly enjoy watching him when he just isn’t interested in passing to his teammates and trying the spectacular against a packed defence

This would've been an excellent post but for the inclusion of Puncheon. He hasn't played a forward pass in about 3 years!

Picking out Meyer for stick seems a little unfair as he was the one player to produce a defence splitting pass of real quality which Schlupp really should have done better with. He also got himself in good positions but Zaha and Townsend's solo efforts meant he wasn't passed to.

Agree. I do think there appears to be an issue between Zaha and Meyer, last two games walked off at the same time not even an acknowledgement towards each other. Zahas uncalled for outburst at Meyer against Leicester (I think) totally uncalled for

I was beginning to think that we would never score so it was a real relief when Ayew scored that goal.

Only winning 1-0 with a late goal against a League Two team down to 10 men after a couple of minutes doesn't look impressive, indeed it will be viewed with negativity by some, however at the end of the day we achieved our objective of being in the hat for the next round.

Larger crowd than I and perhaps many anticipated.
