I sense a great deal of disquiet in relation to our recruitment. As I have mentioned to some supporters, please reserve judgement until much later in the 'Window'. As with all windows, a plethora of deals are concluded in the dying embers.

Re-signing a Championship level player is not in that category.

He’s played in the premier league since 2015 before that France, only first half of last season following Swansea’s relegation was in the championship?

Very happy with this signing. Capable of playing in a number of positions and happy to bide his time. Obviously not first choice but a suitable back up. Got better towards the back end of the season and played some good games. A really willing runner, I was impressed with his attitude towards closing things down and playing that unglamorous role despite not getting many minutes. At a couple of million it’s a snip for so many positions being covered.

I’d also add that it’s another signing that doesn’t need to bed in to the squad. Last season he was never first choice but he still worked hard when he came on. Anyone who didn’t see his improvement towards the end of the season is either a moron or has already made their mind up about him and isn’t willing to change that. This ain’t a sexy signing, but players like him are invaluable to a team like ours. A versatile player that will be third choice in a number of positions but can still do a job will still play 20-25 games a season. At his price it’s a good deal for everyone.

The only problem is we have a squad full of second/third choice players who are just ‘ok’.

Really? Wilf, Andros, Jimmy Mac, Luka, Sakho, Tomkins, PVA, Guaita are just 'OK' are they?

I think you could say that PVA is just OK, going by last season's form

That can't be true given where we finished last season. We have a good first 11 that is able to compete with the best on its day (and also capable of losing to the worst). That's why we finish mid table.
