The only plus from that game was Meyer. He is a class act and we have to get him into midfield every game now. If only we had something that resembled a striker. I am praying to god that Benteke gets himself fixed with this layoff because we need him big time.

As bad as we were at times ,A top class centre forward would make the world of difference

Way too many errors and no energy in out play for too much of the game. We had them on the ropes in the second half and as soon we equalised we sat back again. Bonkers. We seriously need to kick ourselves up the arse or we will be relegation fodder well before January and with our board we will probably sign no one then either. Wilf and Townsend up top again. We do not have a striker worthy of the name at the club. Hopefully we can get RLC back in Jan to rescue our season

I was thinking the same, why are we farking about playing the ball across the back so much in games. Tonight we needed it up front and we still insisted on pushing about at the back. Sakho looks completely out of his depth, can't get the ball out from under his feet. Really disappointed with tonights performance, no real team spirit on the pitch. I thought Meyer was really promising and seemed to give Palace a motor in midfield. He will get more settled and better. For once I did not think the substitutions were that justified. Hennessey certainly made 2 or 3 top class saves. Wilf was quiet. I noted he played a lot of balls to Meyer. Could become a good triangle with PVA. AWB worked hard too. Sakho was stupid in giving away a penalty that was waiting to be given. A point for Palace would have been great. I trust at the end of the season I can say it was a decent match between two decent mid table teams. We’ll see.
Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time! |

We looked like a mix of Burnley and a Pulis side in that first half. Playing out from the back in 2018 after 6 years of being in the so called “best league in the world” is something we really should be doing a lot more.
We're the Arthur over ere! |

I’m not sure a decent striker is going to make much difference with the really poor service. The entire team seems to rely on Wilf creating something and the reality is neither he or Townsend seems capable of getting a decent quick cross in. The build up was slow, ponderous and predictable.

Seen it a few times now and I think it's a soft penalty. Sakho was incredibly silly to risk it, and it wasn't his only big error in the second half, but he barely touched the fella, who threw himself to the ground.
