Straight red, three match ban if contested and lost.

One match if we don't contest.

I believe we did enough to get a share of the spoils against a team who many believe will be serious challengers to Man C.Having lost however, it is important that we get get something from the Watford game.

A lot of positives but the usual negative of Benteke.
Admittedly he was against one of the top defenders in the world in Van Dijk but unfortunately it was the same old story with him.

The calm after the storm.
Milner wipes out Wilf and no free kick.
PVA tackles Milner, Ref waves play on but the Lino calls it and PVA gets booked!!!!!
Penalty - probably just.
Red card - in normal time yes - in slow mo maybe a yellow - maybe.
We did well overall but paid them too much respect in the first half.
Benteke is just not good enough. He has some real park football moments which are just not acceptable at this level I'm afraid. He has to be sold in the next window as he will cost us points this season.
Schlupp and Townsend will have better games.
I want to see Meyer play.
Hacked off this morning for what might have been but then I think - hey - I could be a West Ham fan and then I feel better!!

3 match ban for violent conduct / dangerous tackle.

One match ban for stopping opponent through on goal.
(although Oliver will probably say Bissaka was running dangerously behind Salah)

Okay.
If it is only one game then we suck it up and give Ward a run out.
We will really notice the difference though!

From my seat in the Holmesdale and subsequently on TV never a pen. Just because there is contact it doesn't mean it's a foul (football is a contact sport remember). The contact made in that instance wouldn't be enough to send him down and he dived IMO.

Similarly just because a player doesn't go down doesn't mean it isn't a foul, but in this case players were going for the ball and Salah felt a touch and dived rather than try and get a shot away.

Nah I’d rather have just moved those out of block E, given the HF what they wanted and had an atmosphere, than that sh*t show tonight.

Must have been at a different game to me. Thought it was a good atmosphere myself. Nice not t have that f*****g drum banging all game

The way i saw it, Sakho stretched for the ball and Salah used the leg to make contact and dive. Very clever way to win a penalty.

In terms of the incident with Sakho and Salah, firstly Sakho gets far too tight with the Liverpool player who is very strong and very difficult to shake off the ball.

Salah is always looking to cut in on to his left foot so Sakho would have been better advised to take a step to his right perhaps forcing Salah inside onto his weaker right foot and then Sakho might have been able to get a tackle in with his stronger left foot.Sakho allowed Salah on to Salah's strong foot then Sakho was off balance and stretching legs apart tackling with his weaker right foot and made contact with Salah which resulted in the penalty.

Michael Oliver could not have been better placed to see the incident.Speaking after the game and also over-hearing supporters, the decision split opinion !

Rubbish, you have to get really tight to salah, you can't give him any space. Plus from that distance he's just as good with both feet. Watch the replay, Sakho doesn't kick Salah, Salah falls over sakhos foot, clever play from a clever cheat. As for dividing opinion, from the reaction of the crowd and their chants, I'm not sure too many thought it was a penalty.
