He's hardly played for us and never played a full match in his preferred position, so I fail to see how any criticism of his ability can be well founded. We could have unearthed a gem, we might not have done, but when you compare Palace to some of the money wasters like Chelsea and ManU, I think we do alright overall with our signings. Milivojevic was arguably the best value find in the league of a couple of seasons ago and Townsened/PVA's value have now increased. You will get some bad ones along the way ie Mutch but unless you pay top dollar for an established face then you will never stop signing a few duds. Even the top players at the top clubs have failed miserably, so there are no guarantees. The bigger concern I have is that I see Sorloth, Benteke and Wickham as pretty similar players, so I think one of them has to go and I would prefer this to be Benteke, to be replaced by someone like Musa at Leicester.

I agree we need a different type of striker - someone like Aguero (I wish!) With movement and an eye for goal. But who is available?
Let's keep the ball this season! |

I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilf used more centrally next season, playing off one of the target men, so adding someone who can play wide and maybe switch inside as well would be a good move to me.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

To be fair he has played pretty much exclusively centrally as part of a front 2 in the last couple of months of the season. He is without a doubt our best option up top at the minute, I personally think we will be better off with him out wide and a better option in the middle, as he creates so much space across the pitch when in wide positions.

Well if Joshua King wasn’t misquoted in his recent interview, he’d be up for a move. They are, reportedly, starting to build quite an understanding in the Norway set up.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sorloth' by Midlands Eagle Having watched the game at Oxford, I'm yet to sense the potential value of Sorloth. To my mind, he looks rather cumbersome. He isn't particularly quick, his touch is a bit clumsy and he's not exactly lethal in front of goal. Anyone feel as though he will come good?
If only it were White, rather than Yellow! |

After the way we ended last season i think Wilf and Andros are Plan A but it depends on RLC returning to play that way. We looked so fluent and dangerous with that system and played great football too

Sorloth doesn't look like he's going to score many. Maybe he needs time but he missed an easy header yesterday. I'll doubt he'll even score 5 this season!

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sorloth' by Midlands Eagle I really thought he did well against Arsenal and thought perhaps he was going to turn things around. I realize the whole side was poor today and that he wasn’t the only one putting in a weak performance, but the lad was shockingly bad out there. The worst thing is his complete lack of desire and his awful body language. He is a really persistent fouler as well which is not a good string to his bow. He doesnt seem able to even compete for headers in the box versus smaller and seemingly less powerful defenders. He is a poor purchase at what we paid for him, he is up there with Rakip and Jach as seriously questionable signings. The lad needs to go out on loan to possibly discover some kind of form and desire, otherwise he will not be a success at the club I fear.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

If Sorloth isn’t good enough playing against a second string championship defence then surely there’s no point playing him in the Premier League. Roy obviously had high hopes for him but clearly he isn’t up to it and probably never will be.
