Sorry, so you can post on the Hennessey thread but we can't post on here????? You really are desperate to prove a point! So you've found some vids of JS coming off his line - well done!!! Obviously when I said he stays on his line it means 'in general' not every time (as I remember once he dashed out to somewhere near the halfway line, didn't get the ball, and left an open goal).

AGAIN you jump to the wrong conclusion and bark up the wrong tree. I told you days ago I would not post on the Hennessy thread again due to you and your gang going round in circles trying to prove Wayne is the best and I have not posted on that thread since. THIS IS A Speroni thread hence posting the links that I did to prove that he does come off his line and is a great shot stopper. I put it was not for you or MKCPFC as you do not rate Jules and I thought you just not be interested. There is nothing to stop you posting on here in the slightest but do you have to keep slating Jules?? Stick to "fighting" on the Hennessy thread and please do not ruin this one. I have kept my word and said nothing about Wayne for days on HIS thread so please do not ruin this thread on Jules and stop being so sad it does not become you.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

You just don't get it. Nobody had been claiming WH is the best - he is an average PL keeper. However is he better than JS who has not been good enough for several years (as in not having had a clean sheet in his last 17 PL games) - sorry if ruins your nice 'Jules' thread!

If we do this civilly, then perhaps we can get to the bottom of this once and for all end the toing and froing. I'm being sincere here as well before the usual lot come on and try to start getting stuck into me.

Have explained many times but it is a waste of time to explain any further to you as from bitter experience, the shutters are permanently up and you dont listen to or acknowledge anything that goes against your firmly entrenched opinion.

Don't need clean sheets to win matches. Just keep the goals against lower than goals for. Simple really.

Comprehension may not be your strong point but try following the discussion please.

CPJ only mentioned Speroni's clean sheets statistics to counter one of the anti-Hennessites' (illogical) claim that we would get clean sheets under Speroni but lose under Hennessey.

Well I am worried now , in all the years I have been watching football and playing it I always thought coming off your line and commanding the area meant you are supposed to be coming off your line collecting crosses and snuffing out the threat generally before it materialised.
What I just watched was a lot of good reflex saves , then some good recoveries from the reflex saves and some closing down of angles.
I did not see one of the keeper coming out and collecting cleanly a high cross.
What you just showed was what we all know Speroni , has good reflexes.
There is coming off your line also in a one on one situation as well , this is generally in a last line of defence situation when you have to gauge whether to come out of your area and beat the forward to it before he can control the ball properly or you may think your defence is quick enough to retrieve it , or you decide to wait for him to come to you and take him on in the penalty area and close the angle down quick and you can use your hands , of course some very good players can sit you on your ass and score easily but many panic under the pressure.
A good example of this is the goal Speroni conceded against Millwall when he rushed off his line when the player was wide out on the wing and gave him the simple option of lobbing him. Speroni is better when not given time to think.
Anyway apologies to Susmilk for disobeying his orders but I fully expected to see a compilation of Speroni coming off his line to collect crosses and command the area, not a compilation of reflex saves.

Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you and your adoration of your former favourite player (you did have JS as you favourite player until you changed it recently to Cabaye - perhaps you finally realised that JS is not the player he once was?).

That sums up Speroni - very good reflex saves but very poor command of his area (and no, I'm not saying that WH is that good at that either but he's better than Speroni who tends to flap at the ball and not get any distance - eg Southampton away a couple of years ago when he gifted them their first goal).

So after a memorable win on Saturday some have devoted over twenty posts worth of their time to dismantling the game of a 38 year old club hero who made his first home league appearance in well over two years and helped inspire us to an unlikely first win of the season against the Champions.

Apparently he shouldn't have engaged with the crowd or made a decent save from an offside shot. In the name of balance eh ? Classic.

Another thread that has degenerated into a tedious exchange between unlike minds with a bit of personal abuse thrown in. How I long for a Willo thread.

Yep , in the name of balance , every time we win with Hennessey in goal someone suggests he did something wrong somewhere , when we lose it is his fault . It's even gone to analysing Wales games.
Speroni plays in a game we win does a decent job , nothing special , and people start a thread to say he should play every game and people implying he was the reason we won.
Nothing wrong with a bit of balance to show how harsh some of the criticism of Hennessey has been. Apologies if it is spoiling it for you , but everyone has to endure the Hennessey rubbish every week and it taints it for some of us too.
