Nick, did you not know, you can only be patriotic and like living in the UK if you are a right wing nationalist with a small socialist bent, abhor immigrants (basically anyone not ethnically white English)but nowadays dress it up as secularism ,and rabbit on about free speech when it suits, but are in practice extremely intolerant. Get it straight, man! That is so true. I would say very perceptive, being so close to the mark that will get a knee-jerk reaction.

It seems Sampson has been sacked because of behaviour in a previous job.

Er the job of the police is to gather evidence, regardless of whether they believe the allegation or not. If the police don't investigate an allegation, then they're remiss in their duty to the public. So yes, if you are white, accused of racism, the police have an obligation to investigate, gather evidence. Its not for them to determine whether something is true or false. Same applies if you accused a black person of racism. sadly, many do not get it that its meant to cut both ways.

So yes, if you are white, accused of racism, the police have an obligation to investigate, gather evidence. Its not for them to determine whether something is true or false. Same applies if you accused a black person of racism. True Vision, a police-funded website allows anyone anywhere to report something they either experienced or witnessed, anonymously if they like. No evidence is needed. Everything is instantly logged as a hate incident. This inevitably presents a warped view of reality used to fuel the 'mobs of white suprematists' and 'sikhs in jackboots' hysteria whipped up by the left.

Japan is a very conservative country. I don't think its so much libertarian as it seems, but rather it has rather codified certain cultural outlets. Libertarians are very much about the individual - and Japanese culture is very much not about indivduals, its about community and groups. Its a different form of conservatism than we see here, because it accepts group cultures that we'd maybe find absurd or weird like Utaku, Cosplay culture - accepting often that interests that are kind of group culture are benefical (so rather than get loners and rebels without a cause, you tend to see structured organisational groups of loners, who celebrate both their difference from the norm, and their adherence to a group). So even being a loner and weirdo, is acceptable, if you belong to a group of similar minded people - and it has its place. Its worth noting though, that Japan has massive problems with organised crime - Both in politics, business and banking. The number of resignations for Yakuza connections in politics is staggering. Yours is a much better breakdown than mine. Their society could do with more libertarianism but obviously I wouldn't want to damage what works. Yeah, I heard about the organised crime, but apparently everyday crime is very low. It's all very fascinating. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Sep 2017 6.40pm)

As a dyslexic you make the choice to come onto public forums. So you get no sympathy from me on that score. I am not an ex-teacher, so stop looking at my outdated profile looking for things to attack me on saddo. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Sep 2017 7.11pm)
