Too many people blaming SP for not getting rid of the deadwood...Mutch, Chungy etc BUT if nobody wants them what is he supposed to do? They all have contracts and will just sit on them til they run out if no one wants to buy them. Likewise if players dont want to come to Palace, how exactly does SP make them play for us??? How many of you complaining about the lack of a new ground have ever had to go through planning applications even for an extension? Difficult isnt it? Imagine how much more difficult it is for a 40000 seat stadium, wuth complaining/moaning neighbours and Sainsburys objecting to everything...Do you really believe SP isnt trying??? Dont you think he may be embarrassed by Selhurst as it is....Fools if you really think that!!! Edited by the silurian (02 Sep 2017 10.18am)

I haven't seen anyone blaming SP for not managing to get rid of the players that you mentioned as we are all aware of the situation regarding contracts.

For the record we've never been an established top division club, like many others. Some of us are destined to just make up the numbers IMO. Reading, Hull, Sunderland, Wolves, Norwich, Derby, WBA, Burnley, Stoke, Watford, Bournemouth, Huddersfield, Middlesbrough, Villa and others. Do you really see any of them being big in the premier league in the future. Many like us had that chance during the old days, but now, again only my opinion, the only way is to be bought out by a billionaire or a country.

Not sure I want to be allocated to another party of the country. Labour, conservative, UKIP? Kermit is wants us to kerb spending to an absolute minimum. A reverse of his politics so maybe it is possible.

I can't help notice Dan89 that you posted two dramatically negative posts back to back. I strongly recommend you lighten up. Man, this site is so awful at the moment. Thank goodness for the HF and their constant positive vibe. When it comes down to it we have a strong first team that should improve when a manager sorts out how to play them. No real weak link, even Hennessy is usually OK with a decent defence. No strength in depth so we are on a shoe string, here's hoping for few injuries,

We don't want to be a massive club. Just a club that can identify players a year or two in advance and plan accordingly, instead of the complete shambles of covering our f*** ups since just before Souare's car crash. There are players out there. You need to invest before they're found that saves the money further down the line. Then the more stable you become the more chance there is on saving money on wages on almost all players rather than having to tempt them with more than you should need to.

No one has come up with an alternative to Parish? None of us could come up with an alternative to run any of the 100 FTSE companies. Doesn't mean they're not out there. The people at palace run and talk to people in football throughout the year. I think they'd be better placed than any of us on here anyway. We're not talking about running the club. We're talking about short and long term planning and running of football matters. Ffs that man is never Dougie freedman. A good scout yes. Sporting director of a prem club. That's a joke. Prem money should attract the best, not a complete novice, or possibly a yes man, which is possible. Edited by Rudi Hedman (02 Sep 2017 11.59am)

Many like us had that chance during the old days, but now, again only my opinion, the only way is to be bought out by a billionaire or a country. There is absolutely no reason why CP cannot be an established PL team winning most home matches, picking up the odd away draw or win and enjoy life as a mid table team, like for example Soton, WBA, Stoke etc, I for one would be more than happy. It is not for us to come up with alternative to SP that is the job of the board, they should as part of their on going responsibility review the clubs performance year on year and see what progress we are making which during our latest spell in the PL clearly shows that we are not doing very well. This is a results business, the income stream relies very much on remaining in PL and goes once we slip back in to the championship. The number of Managers we have had is a weak point and will add to the problem as we lose consistency and players do no like coming to clubs with an unstable management record. SP has to be accountable for this and some of our sick players who have come in at great cost to the club and then spend most of the time not available, couple this with our poor home record over the period and it all points to a problem in the clubs leadership and guess who is responsible for that?

So we constantly lose at home because of the chairman? Really?
