Massive respect for posting, back on page 9 i posted regarding how i knew of someone also deeply effected by homophobic 'banter'.

It must be deeply saddening to have to turn your back on the things you enjoy and love because of how others have made you feel.

I implore everyone to try to understand how other gay or lesbian fans would feel should a chores of homophobic chanting break out during this seasons games. It really is time for it to stop.

Lets not go from being the best fans in the league to the worst. We can out sing every team without this bulls***.

This is being blown out of all proportion now. It's one song that was probably sung a handful of times in the lower holmesdale by probably well under 100 people, because, I don't know, we had other worries and concerns about surviving relegation for 9 months than offending Brighton fans or gay people or anything come to that.

To suggest someone can't attend Palace matches anywhere at Selhurst because they're gay isn't true.

I don't have to. It's none of your business. Move along now.

I showed Rudi Hedman's profile pic to a small group of Palace fans and asked them whether they viewed it as humorous or offensive.

The consensus was neither, just a gritty and realistic slice of life on the south coast.

Depends on your view

Quote Everyone in life should consider, not what am I saying to the person I am talking to, but who is also hearing and seeing what I am saying, and the possible unknown impact on them.

Not s nice experience. I had the crap kicked out of me by Man U fans in 1990 Cup Final replay... it was just a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time...however i dont bear a grudge.

However as for watching what we say in case of who may be listening... i guess itd be best to watch games in silence for fear of offending anyone in future..as there will always be someone offended by something.admirable intention.. plainly unachievable and ridiculous though in the real world

And THIS is where any argument is undermined... I've seen Rudi post on here for years. He likes a debate, discussion, to play devils advocate. Sometimes i agree with him, other times i don't.

However, for someone to openly call for another to be removed from a site based on their profile pic is laughable and juvenile.

Its akin to a small child having a tantrum and stamping their feet until they get their own way. Grow up, get involved in the debate accepting that the people you're conversing with have their own views which are just as valid (to them)as yours.

Well said Lyons.

For someone to complain about a picture of a Brighton player being sick after Palace beat them is out of order.

You didn't read my post did you.

If you attack you will get what you deserve.

Work WITH people and you will make progress.

You are making the Gareth Thomas mistake.

So working with people, does that include calling them autistic if you don't like their opinions?

Maybe you should take your own advice.

Why should they get the s***ty factory job and you the better one...their nature isn't their fault....yet they have to put up with it don't they. What about ageism and how older people are treated? What about how conservatives in highly liberal institutions are treated? Should we stop negative comments that they get from other staff. What about headscarve wearers...What about dwarfs and their job prospects?

The whatabouty element is high. These are impossible demands upon society.

Good role models and time are the best ways to bring people together.

No special treatment for anybody. The law should be followed. If someone attacks you for being gay they are an arsehole.

If something unfair happens to you the law should protect you as it should protect everyone from unfairness.

Clutching hold of reasons to sing homophobic songs is a pretty depressing place to be, times have changed and it's not acceptable. Just like with kick it out.

The minority will be those singing those chants and I very much hope the majority let them know it.
