Without wanting to sound disrespectful, I don't care about your figures, because it would start to legitimise a notion that some forms of political violence are okay - it isn't. The other day while sitting on the throne I came up with a theory which I aptly named 'the flying turd analysis'. Do bare with me, because it might be of interest for you to learn while this whole issue utterly stinks on both sides. It struck me that part of Corbyn's / Trump's problem is that while they themselves might denounce a particular issue or outcome of an issue i.e. they take steps to avoid the incoming political turd which is flying towards them and just let it fly by with a slight whiff of regret (a couple of bad headlines here and there). Some in there camp (Corbynista's and Trump supporters) will attempt to catch the incoming turd in the hopes they can throw it back at their political enemies. Now, while some of them with the use of facts and figures (like your last post) might try to deflect the incoming 's*** storm' back on to their opponents they still end up inadvertently 'owning' the turd i.e. trying to justify Trump's / Corbyn's viewpoint / history / past dealings with a very questionable faction. And what happens when you try and throw the turd back at the opposition in the form of a hypocritically smarmy response? Well you might put the opposition on the back foot temporarily due to a high velocity piece of excrement flying their way, however you and the person you try and protect (Corbyn) still end up smelling of s*** having just touched a turd. My advice to you Nick is to let the huge turd of that is the Venezuelan cultural marxist dictatorship fly by and accept the whole thing is / was a rotten idea to begin with - it'll be forgotten in a matter of weeks. Don't try and justify 'your sides' past dealings with such a toxic issue just to you can try and pin a relapse of neo-facism in Virginia on president Trump. I wish you a turd-free day!

Watched the video. Said both sides are as bad as eachother. I'm sorry whilst he may have a point it doesn't address the fact that there are Nazis marching in the US in 2017. There are Nazis deliberately driving a car at speed into a crowd (but it's not a terrorist act!) Edited by nickgusset (13 Aug 2017 10.17am) Could you stop mis-labelling them, they aren't 'Nazis'. 'Nazis', are specific to their time and place....It's just a silly rallying cry. They are the far right from what I can tell....I find it hard to gather up the interest to find out.....But I know they aren't 'Nazis' Nick.

I would genuinely be interested in finding out where you got the evidence for what you say here. Did you watch the video of people being murdered on the street? Are you saying this is the opposition?

False equivalency. All the countries on Trump's travel ban were from Obama's list of problem countries due to their lack of checks on radicals.

The thing I don't like about Trump is the involvement of his family. I know that past presidents have been influenced by the First Lady, but his wife is always in the picture, even at high level summits. His family have all got jobs within the White House. Is he actually running the country or his missus?

Is he actually running the country or his missus? It's true but we've had that before....People use to criticise Clinton for his wife. With Trump it's worse though....but I think it's a reflection of his lack of trust. His daughter's views appear to be his moral compass and he relies upon generals a lot....probably because projecting power via a strong foreign policy is far more important to him than domestic policy. Expect sh1t to happen at some stage.....though a first strike nuclear attack is unlikely from the US.

That's not good enough. At least 124 people have died since opposition-led protests aimed at toppling the government began. In addition to those killed, hundreds have been injured in the protests. Right-wing opposition leaders have attempted to portray the deaths as examples of state repression and evidence of the "dictatorship" that they are aiming to topple. Mainstream media have by and large echoed this version of events, using titles like “Venezuelan Regime Has Blood On Its Hands” and “Venezuela's Tiananmen Moment." Some outlets have even gone as far as claiming the elected government of President Nicolas Maduro as engaging in “a campaign of state genocide.” The reality of the situation on the ground, however, demonstrates something very different. Here’s a breakdown of those killed since the opposition protests began. Breakdown is in the link.
