Rather like sitting on your hands too long in a rising property market. You've got to know when to bite a hand off and when to negotiate. This guy was the former when Sakho is the latter.

What did Parish tweet last night? I can't read the copy n paste job on here!

Parish tweeted that a 'possible' medical would take place today but not known who for.

I'm not actually that fussed if we don't get BMI. He wasn't even on anyone's thoughts 4 days ago. Good defender but Porto clearly trying to start a bidding war as he's in the last 12 months of his contract.

In Franck we trust.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Apart from the fact that nothing is "clear" at all why didn't Parish take the opportunity to deny it last night when he was busy Twittering if there is no truth in the story

Donald Trump certainly does so if it's good enough for the most powerful man on earth then it's good enough for anyone

To be totally honest I don't avail of 'Twitter' so don't read any of SPs 'Tweets'.

That said, it's not encumbent on SP to comment on any media speculation regards signings etc, indeed if he passed comment on one player there would be a stream of requests for more information. If he got into such discussions then making no comment at all would result in speculation which could be wide of the mark and act as a trigger for more rampant speculation. That's how I view it anyway !

I'm sure there is no 'Running commentary' from SP and that any information he DOES indulge is in the interests of the club as well as supporters.

I agree. Its much better if a deal is done in total privacy until its actually signed.

Hughes is going to look very silly if he forks out £13m for a player after passing up an £8m buy clause for him. But then you might argue that he looks very silly anyway.

And you don't think that it is in the interests of the club and it's supporters to deny a story that is all over the media but has no truth in it that is getting the supporters all excited?

In fairness I think Sam would've made Gabbidon look good, going forward in a more progressive system, if we're hit with injuries I honestly still don't consider Kelly as a good enough centre half for a premier league club. It's also the case for getting a potential gem in Riedewald, but not having to rely on him to hit the ground running from day one. For the figures being branded about in this market I think it would be silly to miss out on a target such as him and the fact we could potentially get both these deals done for less than Sakho alone, it would appear to be very good investment and a way of building for the longer term whilst maintaining a solid foundation. Having said that I've read this morning that Mark Hughes seems to think us having this Martins Indi deal wrapped is "fake news".

Why would he deny something if it's potentially true? That doesn't mean we'll end up signing him but I would imagine we are very much trying to... hence no denial and all the rumours coming out of Porto and stoke.

Doesn't mean it's a done deal as it probably isn't yet.

But not sure why he'd come out and deny it?
