Have to say I am gutted and though roughly fed up. Really thought at long last we had a good experienced manager with an excellent back room team.

Am convinced something behind the scenes at Palace is very wrong.

Sadly us supporters never will Never know the truth but for me all cannot be well.

Sky just reported that Sam's reps are preparing a statement but it's nothing to do with any fall out with Parish & Allardyce is saddened that rumours are claiming it to be the case.

But is it, though? Is it bad management to spell out to managers what the financial implications are should the manager present unrealistic or unreasonable transfer targets? After all, it's not the manager's money being spent. And it's not like Parish hasn't backed Allardyce in the transfer market. If a manager is going to spit his dummy out because he doesn't get his own way, then perhaps a few of them need the facts of life explained to them.

Exactly. And it's not like funds for transfers / wages are not known in advance. Parish isn't checking his balance online every time Allardyce wanted to sign a player; he'll have revenue projections and budgets for players and infrastructure.

Now, when January rolls around, if we're mired in the drop zone then it's smart business to spend beyond budgeted goals in order to secure the future revenue stream of continued Premiership status. That's also smart business.

These two things - money being available in January but budgets being tight in May - are not in conflict with each other.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Whatever manager we get, he will get a lot of time over the summer.

It's a shock yes, but not the end of the world.

Good points but this is still beginning to sound very familiar and as others have noted changing managers every season your luck may well run out. Guarantee Watford won't be hanging around too long in the Prem. Seems another tough start to the new season coming up.

I just hope none of this is true, but if it is, we get a good enough manager for us in time for the window.

Which will undo all our hard work in staying in the Premier League and show that we've regressed to being desperate.

I don't think Sam is very impressed with our squad and doesn't fancy another season of struggle, and wants to quit while he's ahead.

Best team and a few more totalling 15. There it ends as the rest aren't good enough. If we had 20 at the standard of the 15 or the money to get more than 5 to add to the 15 I reckon Sam wouldn't walk.

Cannot see us rushing into a new manager as we are probably still in shock over him leaving, as it looks like this has all come out of the blue. Looks like Steve Parish's holiday plans have been put on hold !!

If this is put out it's even a bigger farce than it seems.
