For rthe record the best goalkeeper in my opinion has been Roy Bailey and John Jackson. Don't disagree with that. Other excellent Palace keepers are Dick Graham, Bill Glazier, Vic Rouse, John Burridge, Bob Anderson.

Time to call it a day and close this boring subject. n.b. Our best and bravest keeper was (in my lifetime) John Jackson and that in the days when keepers were fair game for the most brutal assault, unlike today where they are over protected.

LOL ! He was one of the comedians on the 'Bill' when Bernard Manning performed at 'Crystals'. Manning was very complimentary of 'Bob the Cat' when Manning was signing autographs outside the main entrance after the show.

No mention of Big Nige?? What a keeper he was. I was also very impressed with Matt Clarke in his short time with us. Such a wasted talent. Could have gone onto be one of our all time best keepers if he didn't have to retire through injury.

Time to put this to bed people. Whoever is chosen to stand between the sticks needs our support more than ever.

Met him a few times and he is really 'Down to earth' and friendly. Now lives near Harrogate.

What has that got to do with it? OK I give in as you are so persistent and I have decided that I really must buy you a pint in Hennessey's bar at Selhurst but you will have to give me directions on how to get there as I only know where Speroni's bar is I am afraid. Look forward to arranging a meeting with you at some stage
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

In Jules defence, he was born in a country with an abundance of completion for that number 1 shirt. The others mentioned including Wayne, not so much.

For me our best ever keeper although appreciate there were a few before my time that I cant comment on. Jules comes a close second not just for his ability but for the dedication and love he's showed our club over the years, not least because of his refusal to leave during administration. Back to the subject, Hennessy is not premier league quality but I'll continue to support him and refuse to slate him whenever he is picked. Fail to see what undermining a players confidence during the game does that has any benefit at all. I know how I'd feel if my own fans were booing a mistake compared to how I'd feel if I felt I had their total support.

I support him and cheer him more loudly than any player when he catches or does his job. There may be a slight hint of sarcasm in there when I do but he gets my support. I say it how it is on here because this is the place to do so.
