Yes, but he's still got a better saves and goals concede ratio per game than Mandanda. So, if we got more points under SM then there must be some other reason for this.

Not necessarily convinced by Mandanda but Hennessey's been poor for a year, featured in three wins from nearly thirty games and is in no small way responsible for the mess we're in. Fine margins in most of our games and he's fallen short.

The 3rd goal yesterday wasn't important but if you watch it again you'll see WH making the same old mistake as has cost us before. As Toure runs up to kick the ball WH moves to the right. He still couldn't save the goal but more importantly he wouldn't have saved the shot if Toure had gone for the other corner of the goal. He just doesn't learn does he????

Well we now have a proper Goaly coach so he needs to try and improve all 3 goalies, because we will not be buying another.

Our new goalkeeping coach was the Welsh goalie coach for years so wouldn't hold too much hope there for WH !

Forgot that and DR Ryland worked for Wales.

He got rightly blamed before for moving the wrong way at free-kicks. This time he didn't and he still gets flack. That was a perfect free-kick, like Lukaku's for Everton - the only difference being that at least he tried to save it which SM didn't with the Everton one.

But he did move the wrong way like he always does - that's my point !!!!

im usually the strongest critic of WH but for once, he didn't move the wrong way on saturday. Watch the video and one could argue he may be in the wrong position but he doesn't step away and dive back like he usually does. Had he been more centrally positioned he may have been in a better position.

Give me strength !!!! At a free kick the idea is for the wall to cover one half of the goal and the keeper covers the other half.He doesn't stand in the middle of the goal. After setting up the wall and getting in position WH always takes a step towards the middle of the goal as the kicker runs up to have his shot.
This action has 2 points
a) the move to the centre is not enough to cover the far corner behind the wall (as happened on Saturday)

b) the step to the centre unbalances him and therefore he is unable to save the shot into the corner on his side as happened several times last season

He must learn to position the wall and trust the wall to do the best possible and then he must learn to stay on his side to guard that corner. If after all that the kick is like Yaya Toure's then nothing will stop it.

On the subject of keepers, Begovic might be going to Bournemouth to replace Boruc.
I have a feeling that Begovic went down in history a couple of years ago for scoring the longest goal in football, think over 100 yards against his opposing keeper Boruc !

We definitely needn't to do something before the window shuts. Wayne is our only fit senior goalie as it stands. That is a very dangerous game to be playing in our current situation no matter who the available fit goalie is.

Surely we can have an emergency loan if something happens to Hennessy as if we sign another keeper one of him, Speroni or Mandanda will have to be dropped from the squad of 25 as we wouldn't want four keepers in the squad
