Forget him......NEXT Probably Arsene wishing to add to his £200 million war chest that most Arse fans wish him to spend. No doubt they will be stipulating that he plays a number of games this season as per Sanogo. After the debacles with Bendtner, Wiltshire and the above surprised we are bothering. This will probably go to the 11th hour and be a complete waste of time.

Rumour I heard is that he wants higher wages than is currently paid by Arsenal. Me too, and that's crazy. Parish was right to pull the plug, but perhaps when facing the rest of the season in Arsenal reserves, he'll be more reasonable?

Well I am GLAD we are not caving in to stupid wage demands for a player who would only marginally improve us at best. I know Big Sam is keen to go for tried and tested players and it's important the board back him - BUT if we go along the lines of paying a player whatever he wants we're going down a treacherous path!

You would think a footballer who has hardly played for 12 months, isn't getting a look in and not likely to get a look in at his current club and is being offered a lifeline to stay playing premiership football (as I don't see anyone else queuing up) would be grateful and just want to play football And let's face it he is still going to earn more in a week than the average person earns in a year..... Just shows you that it's not about the love for the game.

When did the "love for the game" come into it? This is professional sport, these guys are professional sportsmen, they get paid for their time, why shouldn't they hold out for more money? The average person doesn't take less money for their job "for the love for the [job]". A bricklayer doesn't work for the love of bricklaying, he works for money. Why should you compare Jenkinson with the "average person" when it comes to money and not when it comes to his motives for going about his work.

For the umpteenth time Jenkinson was allegedly offered the same huge wages that he was earning at Arsenal so didn't have to take a drop but he wanted a rise. It will ultimately come down to whether he wants to play football with us or spend his day training and rarely getting near the pitch with Arsenal. I have a feeling that he may well have a change of heart late on 31st January

Why should you compare Jenkinson with the "average person" when it comes to money and not when it comes to his motives for going about his work. Blimey... who are you, his boyfriend?? Chill out. No the average person doesn't take less money for the love of the job because the average person lives in the real world living with the realism that life brings with regard to bills and everyday survival. As for the second part of your argument. Let's say you had hardly been at work for 12-18 months. You went to another firm who were aware of this and were willing to pay you the same money... You want more despite the fact you've done nothing to prove you're worth more.... What do you think the answer is going to be?? I've always said that top flight footballers and other sportsmen don't live in the real world. Let's face it £40,000 a week is hardly normal is it? Very easy to become detached from reality and what really matters when you earn that kind of money. From the sounds of it if you were the chairman they would be getting paid whatever they wanted!
