A wonderful bit of spin by you Kermit.

But it's not spin. It's the truth looking at the figures. If immigrants were the main cause of population growth over the last few decades I would say so and with the figures. But they are not.

There are too many coming over in some areas but let's not dismiss the actual other facts.

And then we have to factor in the birth rate of immigrants, Muslims average 3.1 children per female,

One in ten babies born in the UK are now born to Muslim parents.

It does if all things are constant but of course they never are. And a 1 month old isn't going to work for another 18 years. Less of them will mean less school places and medical care.

No it doesn't.

Take global population. The World birth rate is dropping but the population as a whole will continue to rise for around another 200 years. That's how it works.

I have just provided you with some facts.

We will have a population of over 70mill in 10-15 years. It's the oldies that are the main problem going by the official figures.

Euthanasia at 80. Job done.

There won't be space in hospital so it'll be either:

DIY

Death by cop in an end of life crisis

Done by relatives

Come with a government charge that is recycled into cases where people have got pregnant without any birth/life/financial planning or care of the consequences of their actions.

Could be a new thread in fun talk.

That was a very interesting and in-depth study. I can't disagree with any of those projections.

My earlier points still stand about the "10 million"

Not just migrants.

Even that in-depth study has them down as being the cause for 51% increase in the future - so 49% is not. Still means we will hit roughly 70mill by the late 2030's with or without them.

I said it does if all things constant. I probably shouldn't have posted it because in population changes things never are. I did see that Scandinavian's lecture on the BBC last year or year before with medicine and living standards increasing life expectancy and the level of increase that's already happened in some places and is delayed or beginning to happen in less developed countries.

So s0d it then, as it's only half of the cause we'll just carry on then.

The figure of 240,000 is between 2005-15 using O n.s stats, the trend has risen in the last few years. I'm on train home so don't have access to exact ons figures but would say Kermit is about right for net immigration between 2001-11 although should update his figures. Would also say I need to get out more and not check hol on the way home or be thinking about checking ons figures when I get home.

OK Kerm. Not all of the increase are immigrants but you seem to have your finger in the dyke of reason here.

You can believe what ever you like but this country is changing like never before and unless managed it will lead to a crisis in services, housing, wages and jobs. It risks creating a divided society of different ethnic and religious factions. It risks a shift in politics where minorities dictate to the majority and a rise in religious dogma and influence.
Later on we will have a food and water shortages and a constant flow of refugees queuing up to escape famine and strife in Africa, Asia and Indonesia.

I won't be around to see this but my kids might and their kids will for sure. If feel sorry for them.

You do realize that according to this the population has only gone (adding natural and net miggration together) up by 5million between 2003-04 and 2013-14 don't you?

You seem to be extrapolating current trends into a place in the future where your grandchildren will be affected; yet these immigration trends have been occurring for a relatively short period (10 years at most). The only constant is change, and undoubtedly immigration and emigration numbers will alter again in future.

It is quite possible that Africa will become a self-sufficient continent within the next 20 years. Much of Asia already is self sufficient, and growth there will continue in all probability. And it's a very long way from Indonesia to Dover, so I wouldn't worry unduly about that scenario.

Ethnic groups tend to find ways to get along over time. Green Lanes in north London is one of the few places in the world where Greeks and Turks live side-by-side with little or no friction. And it's only ever a tiny minority from any religious group who use their beliefs to beat up others. Most want the same things that you do, a peaceful happy life and a good future for their families.
