These talks are a joke, will go nowhere, and are simply designed to take some pressure off May temporarily.

There is only one way out of this s***show, and it is the so called peoples vote.

Not even a general election will solve this.

That will only make it worse.

Of course, the idea that the first was somehow only advisory and that a second one would be the real one is so laughably self serving and illogical that it is hard to believe that anyone could suggest it without choking on their own hypocrisy.

I wonder what the bookies odds are on Brexit by the end of the October date the EU extended everything to.

These are to back on the Smarkets exchange at decimal Odds. Subtract one to get the odds over 1.

To lay (against) they be a few 0.02’s higher.

Come on Hrolf. You were supposed to get your wish at the end of March. Politics is in total chaos. We are at total loggerheads. British Steel is now in deep s*** with Brexit and the uncertainty of a rudderless Brexit ship being a major contributory factor. If more blue collar jobs are jeopardized you will certainly lose in the court of public opinion.

How could a second vote make things worse?

I know what you fear and deep down what you know. A second vote would mean us staying in the EU as enough people now realize what a terrible idea Brexit is, and that the lies of the leave campaign were really just smoke and mirrors. 350 mil for the NHS etc.

Its not about being advisory/binding or whatever, it is way...WAY simpler than that.

Asking a binary in/out question on EU membership leads to an undeliverable mandate.

The last 3 years must have shown you this?

Why does it lead to an undeliverable mandate, I hear you cry....?

Because there are 50 different ways to leave the EU.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Is that the best you have?

I took apart your argument completely and utterly, and all you can come back with is "the ravings of a desperate man". Pretty weak, Hrolf.

You are off form today. I think you need your sidekick Stirlingsays to chip and take some of the load? I am sure he is around here somewhere.

Try harder to debate man...I took some time to write down my thoughts there and your comeback is like being served a McDonalds milkshake (strawberry please) for dessert after a 5 star Michelin meal. That milkshake would be for consumption too, just to be clear.

What I need to do is go to bed. You are not saying anything that deserves a mature response.

Perhaps a good night sleep is what you need, to get back to your best tomorrow.

Sleep tight, Hrolf.

And if the result of a second vote is the same? Will you be stamping your feet and demanding a third? Have enough people stopped being “dimwits and racists” in the last three years to change the result?

Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together knows this is a silly argument.

Of course the result of a second vote would be respected. There is enough reality out there by now about job losses etc due to brexit that people now have a chance to make an informed decision.

If it remains the will of the people, it will be delivered.

MPs are struggling here because it might not currently be the will of the people any more.

2016 was the classic example of an uninformed decision.
