Wonder if that would work on Trump? I digress. The grockle topic and the Mainer topic are not one and the same. One is about tourism, the other about pride and a running joke about being "from away" as they call it here. How can you be racist against "tourists"??? Tourists are not one race, Park Road. Anyone living in a high tourism area, whose livelihood doesnt necessarily depend on it, probably aint too please about a massive influx of people in the summer. Also I simply said people from Maine dont consider you a true "Mainer" lest you were born there. That hasnt got anything to do with racism, Park Road, its related to the pride people feel in what is a unique state in these lands, and is kind of a local joke here.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

This thread's getting confusing now. If you stay in Maine you're a Mainer, but if choose to to leave Maine, then return to Maine, you become a re-Mainer because you chose to leave.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

Personally, the thought of yokels trapped in a quaint English wilderness that, is so far removed from reality, being racist themselves, and associating it with pride and uniqueness... amusing.

A Re-Mainer....very good. like it. Well I have lived in Atlanta for a year now and am heading back up soon, so I guess I am a remainer in more ways than one.

No-one has been censured here for their political views but only ever for their posting style. One of your leftie buddies publically referred to me as a c*** yesterday and I suppose that if he is red carded (which he should be) you will squeal about political bias again TBF Aggers has been publicly called out for calling a journo a c*** not once, or twice, but thrice. And he’s still in a job
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

I find the fact that you were giving Maine as an example and not Cornwall and me only just realising it...even funnier.

I saw a sticker on a van only today which featured the Cornish flag and this message " Cornish by birth, British by accident, English never". They take it seriously here, albeit with a smile and the tongue firmly in the cheek. Nevertheless they always support Wales in rugby games against England. Bollox, We've got a holiday house near Perranporth and I've never seen the locals support Wales over England on many a trip to the watering hole. The Cornish not English thing is true when it suits them though. Curly haired, web footed inbreeds.
