Leave Gammon out of this. A glorious term. We need to own it. Revel in it. The Wild Boar is, at least for me, my Spirit Animal. Gammon is the future. we should follow your suggestion if people can also laugh and revel in the 'N' word ? i mean, so serious and all. Some people have got no sense of humour at all. feck it, throw in the pejorative names of all ethnicities, religions and nationalities. that is the much vaunted 'equality' that eejits on here are b1.tching about. Does the word gammon really offend anyone? Obviously theres that really big, long-standing history of discrimination, suffering and oppression associated with a cut of pig. There's no comparison between the two. The fact that one is referred to as the N-word, as to not offend and the other can be said freely, surely highlights this.

I hope that those taking a knee at the EUROS where they face no sanctions or have little or no chance of having their endorsements stopped have big enough balls to do the same at the next World Cup. FIFA’s disciplinary code states players and federations can face disciplinary action in cases of “using a sports event for demonstrations of a non-sporting nature”. This is correct & generally. its adhered to. Trouble is, a few weeks ago, they & Uefa, turned a blind eye to players parading the 'Palastinian' flag about after ECL/EL games & a few internationals. They even said NO sanctions would befall any player that felt the need to. On the other hand, a few players WERE sanctioned over portraying the Israeli flag. Go figure.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Laws are less important than the people who interpret the laws. It's a point that those who think certain laws will always keep them safe should reflect upon.

Edited by PalazioVecchio (09 Jun 2021 2.40pm) Nah. We rise above it. Who the f*** wants 'equality'? Western Civilisation is the very pinnacle of humanity's achievement. Let others call us what they want. Rejoice in their abuse. Remember they are literally willing to risk their lives to come and live in OUR culture. Not the other way around. And I have not heard any POC's use the term Gammon. Only the scummy soc.lib cucks. I actually think no white person should use any term of racial abuse. Should not feature in either our public or private conversations. Instead, just focus on the positivity of our shared Whiteness. When all is said and done, much of what has been termed political correctness is only really a form of politeness. We need to hold ourselves to a much higher standard, not want to be dragged down.

If everyone behaved like your last paragraph I would be ecstatic. There’s nothing wrong with being proud of who you are and where you are from. People might not believe it but I’m still proud to be a British white male and my background and upbringing. It’s just being respectful of others. That’s all.

Yeah, the players could make a principled stand at the next World Cup like they did at the last one; it was a joy to behold the way they protested before every match against Russia's racism, discrimination against non-heterosexuals, aggressive war-mongering, foreign assassinations (etc). Then there's all those squad members who went a step further and refused even to travel.

What I think? Ah, you mean who cares about facts, as usual.

You start at a reasonable place like this....and this is how it started. Then what happened is that the definitions of what is and isn't polite and what can and can't be said is determined by those with negative opinions of Europeans and their societies. Political correctness is how Crick, the co-founder of the discovery of DNA was stripped of honours (imagine how Newton would have been treated), political correctness is why the best pace bowler in England isn't playing in tomorrow's test. The consequences of giving these people the foot in the door has been a frightened society that is scared to speak its truth. It can now close down your bank account or arrest you if it doesn't like your opinions. Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Jun 2021 4.11pm)
