I was sat next to the main objector. It looks as if we got there together, so congrats to you for working it out on the basis of my few sketchy words. But my comment about skin colour was correct - I said (in a roundabout way) that describing him as white would have been inappropriate - which it would have been!

I had forgotten about him/ repressed the memories.

There is an element of this because once sam left we then had AWB and Roy take ages to either get the ball to him on the floor or marked by 2 CB’s or not get the ball to him at all. However, Benteke’s reading of deliveries is p1ss poor and lazy. When has he ever moved to the destination of the pass or ball into the box? Anyone who’s played football understands what their teammates do and are about to do. He hasn’t a scooby. I question how much of a football brain he has actually. Close to zero, but put a ball above everyone just asking for it to be buried and he’s your man. Sunderland away corner and Friday night at Goodison Park in the corner of the box was Friday night dinner thank you very much for him. All this highlights a lack of coherent strategies by Parish. Bringing in FDB to overhaul the football too quickly with a minimal budget. Doomed to fail. Our recruits from now on must be smarter. Being able to play football being the first prerequisite. CB has been poor but in an attempt to defend him.... we don't seem to put decent crosses in for him. Also has anyone noticed how many times he gets blocked off, held down when trying to get to the ball. He is unfairly penalised for backing in/jumping with arms raised more often than any other player I have seen. I know many will disagree with these views but is it him or Roy's system? I have a feeling he may come good again this year.

And if you don't play to his strengths, you aint getting the best out of him. It's the equivalent of playing Wilf as a centre forward then launching crosses into the box.

To me it just feels like if he stays fit and has a brief purple patch and scores a few goals we will see a completely different player. The last two seasons he has looked like a player who thinks he's already missed before he shoots, not the Bentenke who cheekily chipped the Chelsea keeper. I think he'll hit double figures if he stays, especially if we bring in a right-back who can cross.

If he stretches his arms out after not moving or ever reading a ball 1-2 yards in front of him I’d rather we cvnted him off for free during the season. Lazy fvcker blames everyone else when he’s not even playing to half his potential. When he did get the perfect floor pass across the goal at Anfield it landed in someone’s living room on their plate of scouse and chips.

Has Benteke ever thought of trying to adapt his game to ours, and not vice versa, maybe moving about a bit, or trying to read the game.
