So why was a referendum held in the first place? Why waste all that money and time if it didnt count? Quite so! As an opponent of referendums I think it was a total waste of time and money. Was it because ALL MPs are self serving greedy b******s who care nothing for their constituents, but only for their expenses? Why did Cameron offer the referendum and promise to honour the result when he and all the other MPs had no intention of doing so? It was a disastrous error of judgement designed to quieten the Eurosceptic wing of the party and stop a drift to UKIP. That the majority of MP's want to stay in is well known but they have been trying to find a compromise but looks like satisfying no-one. I cant wait for a general election when hopefully the lying thieving b****** MPs get their marching orders. Yvette Cooper being one of the worst, foul little woman with a fat b****** husband. A GE is the only way to really test current public opinion but I suspect it would result in a hung Parliament and the need for compromise and deals. So still a big mess, but at least we will all be able to cast a vote that actually means something.

The UK has adhered to the two previous national referendum results.....which includes the 1975 vote to stay in the common market. I'm confident that a strong showing by the Brexit party, where Steely gets fromaged bless him will give extra strength and legitimacy to leave.

When 'the enlightened' lose. Referendums don't count whatever the result is in our system. My opinion would be the same if "Remain" had "won". The consequences though would have been different because there would not have been any need for a prolonged negotiation. Just Farage making noises about when to hold the next one.

The country had one because it intended it not to count and everyone knew it, including you, so why weren’t you and your million marching chums protesting there was a referendum? This is so boring experiencing this moaning. I didn't march and nor will I. I leave things to our elected representatives to decide on our behalf. I don't believe in referendums on any subject for any reason. That Cameron tried to shut up the Eurosceptics by agreeing to hold one was a tragic mistake of historic proportions which I think he well understands. It was all about trying to preserve the integrity of the Tory Party and it failed.

Referendum results which match the status quo require no action on behalf of Parliament and can therefore appear to have been implemented. It's when they don't, as with the 2016 one, that things get messy.

This is a parody account surely? Haven't the remain losers been bitching about a 2nd referendum for the best part of two years..
