I think that even the HF were aware that a huge proportion of the signatures on the petition were false. You only had to look at the names of the so called fans to see that they were fake and if they checked the IP addresses they would notice that a huge number of signatures came from the Brighton area You keep repeating this (without any proof) & it doesn’t make any sense. Why would Brighton fans sign a petition to improve our atmosphere. Hardly subversive, is it?

Why did they sign it in such numbers? Because it was a great opportunity to take the rise and watch our support tearing itself apart, which would be even funnier if Parish were to be pursuaded by it. That's why. And they won't have been the only club to have been making whoopee with a petiton that required no ID confirmation and could be signed by one person mutiple times (some of them have signed 200 times).
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I’m in block F, looks like I will be standing all match. I’m a young 62 and been in this seat surrounded by friends old and not so old for many a year. Unless they are going to shift me out as well? Feel for those in block E that have been there for all those seasons good and bad as well. Not been handled well but I do understand why those at the end of the block want to be behind the goal and create a better atmosphere than what they were doing? Oh well, let’s hope they understand that us oldens that have been going before they were born don’t like being told to move when they get to our age and a similar thing happens to them? In truth we will probably be back down a division or two and they will have stopped coming?

I, for one, am glad progress has been made & 'get' that it's for the good of the Club - if they can generate half the atmosphere that was managed in our last two Wembley trips it'll be worthwhile. What I don't like is the way the whole situation has been handled (by both sides) and how we've been portrayed across social media. We joined them in E for the Carabou cup game against Huddersfield last season & despite the lack of numbers in the ground the atmosphere was way better than it is at the moment. Rival fans -- and disgruntled palace fans -- are always going to pick at it on social media and find fault with how it's handled. It hasn't been handled well, that's true, but it was always going to be extremely messy. And will continue to be controversial for years to come in my opinion. I sympathise with all sides but hope the HF return v wolves. still reckon many of them did renew in B.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I don't think there would be too much acrimony if pre-season, the club had decided that they were going to reorganise the stadium to create a singing section. It's difficult to object to, really - people saying you can't do it because people already there might not want to continue sitting there is tantamount to saying that the stadium can never be reorganised by the club because it has to be the exact same way it's always been. However, the way that it actually plays out means that the narrative is that the HF threw a strop to get their way, which reflects badly on them, and the club handled negotiations and the PR around them terribly, and were eventually forced to acquiesce to the HF's demands when the atmosphere evaporated, which might just be worse. All in all, this saga is a bit like our usual approach to staying up in the PL - prepare inadequately, get into a right mess, only get things sorted out once there's already been some damage.

That makes no sense at all. When was the last time you ever heard a manager or player say after a 5-0 defeat 'well thank God for the fans otherwise it would of been ten'... Why do we often see players waving their arms to increase the noise from supporters. I would like to think they are wanting our help to play better. Am I missing something ?

The only thing I've ever been against is how the current season ticket holders in D E and F will be treated. I sit in H so it doesn't really affect me at the moment. Just hope the club deal with this the way they should and make sure they are all happy come August next year.

Those that are moved should be given a very sweet deal elsewhere to smooth over any bitterness of being booted out. A good outcome though and it didn't need the hissy fit flounce from the HF to make it happen, they could have carried on supporting this season and had the new singing section from next season. They'll probably think it was the child-like flounce that got them it though.

Entire away sections stand, every stadium, every week. I can't recall ever sitting down at an away game other than our Wembley appearances & even then it was only half the time at best. Not sure I've seen away fans at SP sit either? You sat down at Wembley. Great fan you are. No chance you'll be allowed in the singing section...

It can be argued the club’s statement a month ago and the handling of it last spring with no chance given to the the HF proposals and brochure means the ‘okay we’ll support like everyone else’ rather than ‘hissy flounce’ was necessary. That ‘unique opportunity to take 100 seats in B’ was particularly bad. And this was all done with the club and Parish effectively shrugging its shoulders. I’ll again remind anyone that Parish said on hol radio just after the Burnley game, Frank’s sacking and sun rising tweets ‘why can’t all our fans be like the HF, constantly singing and supporting and never moaning about this or that.’
