The first thing she'll do is help out by giving tax cuts, she says, not 'handouts'. Tax cuts = cuts in public spending, more cuts in public spending so good luck the care sector, good luck the NHS, good luck the local governments that will bear the bear the brunt. I'm wondering tax cuts where? The earnings tax rate? How would that help those who are out of work, pensioners? If the state pension is protected by the 'triple lock', presumably it will increase by the rate of inflation - what- 10%? Not much help if your energy bills have increased by 300%. I am intrigued to see how this will play out. One thing is sure: the Tories will want to improve their image as being more 'cuddly' before the next election. How will they try to appear more caring? Note the phrase 'appear more caring'
