Rafa, Howe and Lampard all available. Thomas Frank and Gerrard could be available if we bought out their contracts. I just want Parish to have the common sense to see when things are flat lining. Rafa would bore us to death in 3 years time but hed probably have us playing at our limit before then which would be something to actually enjoy for once.

I wonder how many Roy outs on here will disappear once we win a few games and get back on track?

That was exactly my point earlier. You make up this narrative that people are demanding attractive attacking football. When really we don't want to be served up the same approach week in week out that no longer works. I take it that you want us to try the same 4-4-2 approach against Wolves on Saturday, which has failed twice against them and will fail again?

Classic Croydon Roy quote, nothing changes, the fellow lives in his own little universe: "To Blackburn's honour, Jack Walker wanted me to resign, he wanted to still pay for the rest of my contract. He said, 'Why don't you resign? You've had enough, it's not working out.' I refused to do that, arrogant of course as I was in those days. I thought if they stuck with me I'd save them from relegation. I do think that the players were very much still with me, so I couldn't resign because that would be a suggestion that in some way I was doing something or something was happening which I didn't see to be the case or the truth. I gave him no choice but to sack me" Over to you Mr Parish.

I believe that I asserted on HOL,but most certainly outside this cherished site, that I in my humble estimation we should revert back to 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 to give us extra solidity in the midfield 'Engine room'. Roy in. I just don't know what I would read to brighten up my day other than a post match plastic fan melt. Some of this stuff written about Roy Hodgson is so off-fact it makes Mr Dodgson's writings sensible! I notice you say some, which means you agree with some of it. There was nothing positive in that performance. We were second best in every department, our effort and tenacity never matched theirs. Then you look at individual performances such as Townsend’s which was appalling. He has given the ball away a staggering 40 plus times in the last two matches but is still considered the best player for that position. Milivojevic was terrible in the centre of midfield and Benteke was, well, just Benteke. As for our defence and even our normally reliable goalkeeper, utterly shambolic in their set up and defensive execution. Are you saying that none of this is the manager’s responsibility and that we as fans have got it all wrong? Fans don’t go into meltdown for no reason, they do it because they passionately want their club to play the best they possibly can and when they see performances like that it is entirely understandable why they challenge the team selection, tactics and failure to adapt during the course of the match. Your response to this is an easy one to make and your attitude is that you have some sort of superior intellect by underplaying the situation and belittling other fans opinions. However, all it tells me is that you have no real passion for your team.

We desperately need a fresh insight. The players need it most. Last night was horrific and it should of been over before half time.

But we all know that Roy isn't going to change the system, even though most people have worked out that the system is wrong. What other solution is their but to change the manager? The only reason people seem to want to keep him is out of some kind of bizarre cronyism.

I said after the Citeh game I'd reserve judgment on Hodgson until after the Fulham game. After last night, I'm tempted to say, time for him to leave now. However, let's see what happens on Saturday. I say that because I'm interested to see whether or not he'll play Mateta. He has said that J-P is available and will be in the squad and he is considering whether to start with him. I'm also interested to see if he will bench any of those who started last night. If he goes with the same starting XI on Saturday, I'll know it's time to join the Hodgson out cry. 3 points on Saturday is a must. especially against a Wolves team who are also struggling. If they go 4 or 5 in midfield and Hodgson persists with his 4-4-2 (which is really a 4-2-4) I can't see us winning.
